We have the ability to win the double of course we do, we have the technical ability but we have very little form and probably not very much confidence so I think it will be difficult unless the Chelsea match can inspire the team.
Happy Tuesday to you all,
Not alot in the way of news today, mostly regurgitated stuff from the week gone. Eboue to Barca, Rosicky frustrated, Cesc to stay until he is 72 etc etc.
What is new is the Birmingham City chairman coming out and as the media like to say… slams Cesc. Is it a sort of WWF body slam type to slam? Or is it the kind of prositution type of slam? Anyway..
He said: “Fabregas has got this wrong and I will stand by Martin through thick and thin over this. It may be his opinion but I would ask him to listen to the majority of voices who have been in the main supportive of Taylor.
“Why is Fabregas still talking about this three weeks after the event? I don’t deny that Martin has to take responsibility but he (Fabregas) is talking about there being intent. “Is he saying he thinks Martin went into the tackle to deliberately hurt Eduardo? If he is then it’s outrageous and it does the player, his football club and football no favours at all.
I think it is time to put this all behind us now. Eduardo is on crutches now and is getting on with his rehibilitation. The tackle was horrible and high and whatever his intenstions were his feet should not have been half way up his shin, the ball does not start in that position but lets stop talking about it now, its draining.
Robin Van Persie has been talking about the need the need of silverware this season.
He said: “We have to win at least one trophy this season,” he said. “At least. If we don’t, then we would have played fantastic football for nothing. We need to win something because this is our moment. We all realise we are in a fantastic position and this has to be our year, and the years to come. We have something here.”
“I’m not a daydreamer, I really think we can win it, and the Champions League, this season. Why not? We have the qualities. We have to stick together and believe in it, belief can take you very far. I still think we can do it and, hopefully, I can play a part in it.”
We have the ability to win the double of course we do, we have the technical ability but we have very little form and probably not very much confidence so I think it will be difficult unless the Chelsea match can inspire the team. If there is one time for Chelsea to lose their unbeaten home record then it is against us. If we give the same application as we did against Milan then we have a good chance. I am hopefull that Grant is not as tactically astute as the former Chelsea boss because that is the reason why we did not beat them during his time in charge (horrible thought)
Enjoy the day, back tomorrow.
