Will Arsene think harder about adding a super super class player?

I am looking forward to seeing how an adapted Carlos Vela settles into the Premier League, but we cannot pin our hopes on a teenager who has never set foot in England

Curly fries, Eggs and bacon for breakfast! Its not greed, ok? It is called comfort eating. We have dangled the white flag to the rest of the Premier League after losing to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge which brought us a new unwanted record of our worst league results in something like 9 years (something along those lines anyway)

Alot of supporters have their own ideas as to why we have self destructed over the last few weeks.

Lack of squad depth, bottle, mental strength, experience, match winners, wingers, tactical issues are just some of the comments I have heard from fans, media and pundits. It could be a combination of a few or all of those thoughts. Only one man can access the situation and make changes and I trust that Arsene is the man to solve it.

It looked so good for us at one stage. 1-0 to the good, the Lions share of the possession with half an hour to go. The trouble is that we are not built to hold onto leads. Unless we scored the second then we were always going to be in trouble. Currently we do not look like scoring many goals. I have said from day one that unless this team clicks and are playing well then we are in trouble.

We cannot rely on playing well all season because it is virtually impossible. We need match winners. Players who can single handedly win matches on their own. Van Persie apart we have not one player who can do that. Cesc, Rosicky, Hleb, Flamini, Adebayor, Bendtner and Eboue are all combination players, they are all passing team players who need each other. Ronaldo, Joe Cole, Torres, Rooney, Messi can score for their team when they have had 0 chances for 85 minutes.

Will Arsene think harder about adding a super super class player? Gilberto and Lehmann will leave. Diarra has gone. Will Arsene promote from within? It is not as easy and saying ‘right I am going to get a world class player!’ there are many stages involved in signing a player, especially a player good enough to make a difference. Quality players are usually at big clubs. The big clubs do not want to let their players leave (like our own team) then you have to think about the cost, wages of the player. Before all that they have to have the right character. Can they adapt? are they disruptive? It is not as easy as clicking a button on Premier manager.

Anyhow, it is still far to early to think about these things.

The next problem is can we beat Liverpool over two legs in the only chance of silverware for both clubs? I think we can but only if we can raise our game again. I think being out of the title race physiologically will bring back our form, if it does then it shows you some of the problems with the team.

I will be interested to see how the team approaches the Bolton game. Will they approach the game in neutral or will they come out still believing they can win the title.

Arsene will have to pick up the players before that. Usually we are strong when it comes to the end of the season, maybe this time it will come too late.
