I remember the days in my youth (early nineties) when I even used to call those clubcall numbers to listen to ‘Arsenal set to swoop for super winger’

Why has all this speculation on transfers increased so much and so quickly? It is crazy. I cannot keep up with the amount of different names that the press are pull out of their mischievous hats.
I remember the days in my youth (early nineties) when I even used to call those clubcall numbers to listen to ‘Arsenal set to swoop for super winger’
Some bloke was speaking really slowly and right at the end of the call the bloke said that ‘The sun have reported that George Graham admires Andy Sinton’ oh those were the days, I do not think my mum was very impressed with the phone bills.
I like to think that I am a little wiser than that now and I try and not pay much attention to transfer talk unless it is pretty obvious that there has been contact. You have to realise that if it is spoken about in the press then it is unlikely to be true. Did anyone hear anything about the Eduardo signing before it happened? How about the Rosicky transfer? Lassana Diarra signed out of the blue. It is the Arsenal way, the Wenger way.
Obviously I am massive fan like alot of you guys and get excited at the prospect of a talented player joining the club but we have to be realistic.
One possible left wing option we could use next season is our very own Armand Traore. I have been saying for months now that he looks like a winger and not a left back. Perhaps Arsene has known this from day one but wanted to improve his defensive skills. He has been playing on the left wing in the reserves and has been impressive. He would surely be a better option than having Eboue on the right as Hleb can play on both flanks.
Traore spoke about his new role in the team.
“It’s my position originally in football so I kind of found myself normally in the left wing,” he told the club’s official website.
“I’m starting to enjoy playing there more and more and, yes, it’s better for me.”
Another possible within promotion could be Dutch wizzkid Nacer Barazite. He can play in both wide and forward positions. Barazite was talking to Arsenal.com about the impressive victory against Derby and the improvement of the reserve team.
“It was nearly a perfect game,” he told Arsenal.com. “With all respect, Derby are not the strongest side we have played this season, but they are a very young team. We stayed focused on the job and played the game our way and we won in style.
“For us to win so well was a big boost to the Club because the Reserve team is an important part of Arsenal. It showed the way we play football runs to all the levels.”
I have said it before, but Barazite looks like a very good player. He reminds me more of a second striker than a left winger. His touch and link up play looks to be very good. We shall see what Wenger makes of him over the next season or so.
I was wondering why big Phil was missing from the Manchester United game and it appears that Arsene has given him sometime off to get his head clear after his mistake(s) against Liverpool in the Champions League.
His father was quoted saying.
“Philippe has been on the phone to us every day for the last few days,” his father Julien told Switzerland’s Le Matin newspaper.
“He was not feeling too good after Arsenal went out of The Champions League.
“Firstly because he is a winner and his team had been knocked out, and then because he was angry with himself.
“Knowing his character as I do, I can fully imagine him bursting into tears in the dressing room.
“Arsene Wenger gave him Sunday and Monday off so he could clear his mind, and he has done that.
“But he is not in distress – it is not as tragic as that. It is not the case that he is suffering from depression.”
Firstly if I was Senderos I would not be pleased with my dad if he told the press that I would be likely to burst into tears. Secondly erm… That’s it.
