Do we need a strong powerful center back to replace Flamini?

Maybe the answer is to buy a central defender. A powerful, dominating, organiser who will solve our defensive problems, then switch Kolo Toure into the holding position. The position that he ends up driving into from his current position

Early one today,

Plenty to do today so need to finish this early doors. What on earth does early doors mean anyway?

I watched Match of the day last night and enjoyed the Manchester City vs Fulham game. I thought Fulham played some lovely football in patches. I certainly do hope that they manage to stay up alongside Reading.

There isn’t alot of new stories to speak about today, maybe it is still a tad early.

I was thinking about the Flamini situation and if he leaves then we obviously need to replace him. Flamini is a high energy player who does what Gilberto cannot. That is part of the reason for our success this season. We do not have any other midfielder in the same mould as Flamini. I think Song is more of a Gilberto type. Strong, good in the air, good blocker.

Maybe the answer is to buy a central defender. A powerful, dominating, organiser who will solve our defensive problems, then switch Kolo Toure into the holding position. The position that he ends up driving into from his current position.

I have read many people say this is the past and I have frowned upon it as Arsene is unlikely to move a player at this stage of his career but maybe it is the right thing for the team. It would solve two problems in one.

What it also would provide is some who can drive into midfield areas the way that Patrick Vieira used to. The way Steven Gerrard does. It is another option other than passing the ball and it usually makes a difference when Toure joins in attacks.

So, Milan have confirmed interest in Flamini.

“He’s a really good player. When he played against us [in the UEFA Champions League] he showed good capabilities,” Ancelotti told Milan Channel.

“A player like him would be good for any team. And, considering his deal is set to expire, should he want to come to Milan he would be a really good signing for us.”

It is hardly surprising that Ancelotti is interested. Flamini’s performance in Milan was of the best that I have seen from a midfield player. There have been rumours that we have upped Flamini’s contract offer but it is all speculation.

I just want all this sorted out now, the whole will he won’t he is very tiresome. Us Gooners have to deal with this crap far to often and it isn’t doing my ticker any good.

I am looking forward to the Fulham Derby game. I really hope to see Traore and Walcott on the wings to provide pure pace and cutting edge. I expect to see Denilson (who didn’t impress me in his reserve team outing) alongside Gilberto.

I am not sure what he will do with Eboue, he will want to play him as he is fresh. It might be possible to see Eboue replace Toure at right back with Kolo moving inside to replace Gallas.

We could see..

Fabianski
Eboue Toure Song Clichy
Walcott Gilberto Denilson Traore
Adebayor Van Persie

Other possibilities are Barazite coming in or Bendtner for Van Persie. Whatever the line up is, it will be nice to see Arsenal play again it seems like the Reading game was ages ago.

I’m off now, have a good Sunday. More tomorrow.
