The agent of Jean II Makoun has confirmed that Arsene Wenger is interested in the Lille midfielder. Tottenham are also interested in his signature which isn’t a surprise. They seem to be linked with everyone right now
As soon as I saw the teamsheet I said to my mate who was watching the game at my place ‘Its gonna be 0-0 and dull.
Our midfield consisted of Eboue who has hardly any end product and two defensive minded midfielders. Theo Walcott needs creative players around him to get himself involved into the game.
The camera showed Flamini, Hleb, Cesc and Rosicky all taking a picture together and I was thinking how we have been robbed of not seeing enough of that midfield and we will no longer get the chance to see the four of them linking up together.
It was a lovely touch from Arsene Wenger to give Jens Lehmann his farewell. He almost looked like a warm team player when he was hugging his Arsenal temamates at the end. Although the German is clearly mad and what he has said to Almunia cannot be condoned within a team I will miss the guy. He has been a great keeper during his time, especially during our unbeaten season which will write him in Arsenal history.
Good luck your crazy keeper.
Arsene Wenger had his bit to say about Jens Lehmann.
He was the best ‘keeper in the Premier League.
“He reads the game well, he is brave and had all the assets to come into the Premier League, because he is not frightened of anybody.
“Jens has become better and better, because at the start he was a bit upset easily sometimes, when people walked on his toes at corners. But he got more controlled through his career.”
Bendtner picked up the man of the match award and although I didn’t think he was outstanding I thought he linked up the team very well and it really brings us back to when Bergkamp was around. I do feel for him because it will be a very difficult task to get in the side ahead of Adebayor. It is not the ideal partnership but they are looking like slowly developing an understanding together.

“Makoun is on Arsenal’s short-list if Flamini leaves,” Thouvenel told setantasports.com.
“I can tell you for sure that Jean II is appreciated by Arsene Wenger but the transfer period has not started yet so I will not lie: negotiations are yet to start.
One positive from the match was the introduction of Armand Traore. Like Squid Boy said in his Match Review he always looked like a left wing instead of a fullback.
I might as well add my own told you so quote..
18 Dec 2007 – Defensively I do not think he is anywhere good enough to be a first choice left back as I do not recall one very solid defensive display from the lad but he is only 18 years of age and that should change as he gets more experienced.
I personally think that he would be an ideal left sided winger. Even at his tender age he seems to be able to beat players without much fuss and has wonderful technique. Maybe Arsene is playing him at left back to develop his defensive side skills or maybe Arsene can see defensive potential in him
