Like I said before, I think we should take a stand and make an example of any player who thinks he can just walk out of the club and join another. It is a different thing altogether if the player is not a regular and wants more first team football
The Alex Hleb to Inter stories continue today with our manager explaining that the Webster clause is not as easy to execute as people think it is.
“It is not as simple as it looks, this Webster clause, you can’t just come in next day and buy out, there is no rule that says that. And you should not forget what clubs can do,” said Wenger. “You have to first go to a Fifa tribunal and if you don’t agree with Fifa, you have to go to Acas. It takes a alot of months. You can be banned for the whole period if it’s not done in a proper way.”
Like I said before, I think we should take a stand and make an example of any player who thinks he can just walk out of the club and join another. It is a different thing altogether if the player is not a regular and wants more first team football for example Justin Hoyte. If he went to Wenger and said that he wants to leave even if he had 5 years on his contract then I could understand and Arsene would be incorrect to get in his way. But a player who was key to our season and who needs to improve in certain areas to help the team after Wenger plucked him up from German football to make him one of the best creative players in European football. Like I said, tell him to shut up and stay put. I think we should give him an improved contract find a replacement either within the club or via the transfer market and then sell him next season or the season after.
Arsene also spoke about the amount of players that want to join the club and not leave the club.
“There are plenty of players who want to join us, I go to my office and I have 220 calls from players who want to come in, we have no problem on that front,” he said.
Wouldn’t it be interesting if we knew the list of agents, clubs and players who contacted Arsenal about possible transfers. It would give the Championship Manager fan something to cry about, thats for sure.
I wonder how far we are into negotiations we are with potential signings, and how close we to getting them here.
The Sun (yes, I know.. I’m sorry) have linked us to signing Sami Nasri from Marseille. Arsene did say that he wanted a creative player and the tabloids will be putting every player on that list.
Marseille president Pape Diouf revealed: “Samir could leave each season, if we receive an offer in between £12m and £16m.
“But we are trying to envisage things from another angle and our aim isn’t to weaken our team.”
That last comment sounds like they are thinking about a swap deal. There has been alot spoken about our so called target Ben Arfa being linked with a swap with Nasri. How about a straight swap with Emmanuel Eboue? Young, Champions League experience. sound fair?
As it is a nice day, I thought I would give you guys a little bit of a laugh to put you in a jolly mood. Here is a quote from a Premier League footballer.
“We can definitely overtake Arsenal next year,” said the 25-year-old. “We always want to climb and get as high as we can in the table, so hopefully if we can keep progressing we can top them.
Not funny? ok, what about if I told you it was Jermaine Jenas of Tottenham talking.. hahaha! The guy really has a great sense of humour. I didn’t actually know their players were as stupid as their fans.
Adebayor has rubbished claims that he has issued a pay me more or I’ll leave threat, which sounds very much like a newspaper headline to start with.
“I am very happy here. Reports which suggest I have threatened to quit are rubbish. I love the club and the fans.
“We have a great set of players here with a fantastic team spirit. We have had a good season but next season we want to go one better by winning a trophy.”
That is lovely to hear. Perhaps Adebayor should lock the likes of Hleb and anymore wantaway player in a room and repeat that over and over again along with a dance which will tap into their subconscious.
One more bit of good news, Tomas Rosicky is ruled out of the European Championships to get himself ready for the new season. Which means he may last 3-4 games in a row.
I have been speaking with the site designer about creating a new look site with new features such as podcast, polls and perhaps a forum and we have some great ideas some inspired by you guys. If anyone has anything that they would like to add then please Contact me
