I am not working with facts here, I am trying to use educated guesses. But if you ask me which Premier League player will be joining us then I would say it would be him. We would probably be looking around the 10-15 million mark
Now that’s what I am talking about!
Arsene Wenger has heard enough negative press about our squad and players over the last few weeks and wants to give some positive news back to the fans.
“I know what I want and I am very confident,” said Wenger.
“I hope to turn that around in the next two or three weeks. They (fans) should be re-assured by what they see.
“It would be better to buy someone who has played in England because they are less risky, but it costs more money if they are from The Premier League,” he went on.
“Maybe I will try to do both.”
Interesting comments from Mr Wenger. You cannot help but speculate when you hear quotes like that. Arsene wouldn’t say these comments unless these deals were on the way to completion..
Niko Kranjcar has been a name that has come up many times in the past week, and when his father comes out and says
“Arsenal plays creative football and Wenger recognises this is in Niko and he would be a logical replacement for Hleb.
“Wenger was interested in Niko in the Croatian League and he has tracked him for sometime.”
This came out a few weeks ago and his father mentioned replacing Hleb so this has obviously been known for some time and how would he have known this unless Wenger has explained to Kranjcar that he will be Hleb’s replacement.

I won’t talk about what he could bring the team right now, because I want to see him holding up the shirt first then I can talk tactics. I have a feeling that alot of You Tube videos will be watched today.
In a way, I am more excited to know what center half we are looking to bring in because it is key. We will already be bringing through two wide players in the summer before any transfers. Vela and Traore can add alot to that position although they both lack Premier League experience. But a player alongside a mobile quick defender, someone who can organise and tell the team to push up or drop back, someone who can out muscle Drogba and beat him in the air to diagonal balls. I have no idea who Wenger is looking at. I don’t know how good he is at buying quality center backs.
Who he plays alongside is for another time.
Mathieu Flamini has spoken for the first time since leaving Arsenal, well spoken about Arsenal at least.
“I actually wanted to sign a new contract at Arsenal last July but it didn’t happen. AC Milan did so much to sign me I couldn’t refuse.
“What happened to us after leading the league for so long was the most painful experience I had during four years at Arsenal.”
He was asked if winning the league would have made a difference in his final decision.
“That would have weighed in the balance. It would certainly have counted.
Which is a load of rubbish as far as I am concerned. If we were in 6th with no chance of winning the league then I would agree but if you slip away right at the end, what you want to do is come back and do better next time around. So he was so disappointed not to win the league that he joined a team who finished nowhere near the title and who are not playing the Champions League next season. Good on ya fella.
He was fantastic for us this season but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him struggle to pin down a first team place in a side who will be making alot of changes this summer.
Anyway, the guy is no longer our problem just like Vieira, Pires and Henry before him. It is time to move on.
Have a great day, enjoy the sun and drop your view in the comments.
Until tomorrow.
Update: Wow, that is how little this match means today. I didn’t even mention the game today. I find that so weird. Anyway, what to say, what to say.. erm.. There will be a match.. and err.. It will not be very entertaining because we will be without Cesc, Hleb, Rosicky and Van Persie. As Toure is out I hope Eboue slots back to right back and Wenger gives Traore a start on the left wing with Theo returning to the right. I don’t like the Denilson / Gilberto partnership. It is horrible, it lacks guile and creativity.
As it is Sunderland’s final match at home I expect them to give their all and the game could well finish 1-1.
I am looking forward to seeing the youngsters get a run out but apart from that, there is not much to look forward to.
