Good morning Gooners,

Do you feel sorry for John Terry? No? hahaha, neither do I. I had more than a chuckle watching him crying out there last night. Terrible isn’t it? I am a grown man taking pleasure from someone’s grief.

It would have been so much better if they went out due to Ashley Cole missing a penalty, and he was so close to doing so. Never mind, it cannot always be perfect I guess.

Anyway, Chelsea are not the reason why I sit on the train, typing on a laptop.

The Sami Nasri stories continue today with a little more light on the situation. It has been confirmed (well by an agent) that we have tabled an offer for Nasri, but it seems like the player and agent want to look around first before making the decision. Gone are the days when you hear a player say something along the lines of ‘As soon as Arsenal came in I wanted to sign asap’

Nasri’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes said:

“We are not in a hurry. It is true that we are examining an offer from Arsenal, which is interesting for Samir Nasri from a sporting point of view,” Bernes told southern French newspaper La Provence.

“But I have also received other offers.”

Which to me translates to something like ‘Arsenal would be best for his development but I am sure we can get some more bucks somewhere else, so let me try and convince the lad to get some more cash so I can buy yet another sports car for doing pretty much sod all.

Ok, maybe that is harsh but the whole ‘Sporting point of view’ is a very interesting thing to say don’t you think?

Our first signing of the season is clear to fight amongst the first team squad for a erm. first team place. Carlos Vela will be a new signing no matter when he first signed the Arsenal registration papers. He has granted permission to come and ply his trade in England.

Vela’s agent Eduardo Hernandez said:

“His time in Spain has now come to a close and he is just waiting for his passport.

“He has worked the amount of time required by the Premier League and everything is going fine.

“He has been granted permission to play and will be joining Arsenal in July for the beginning of pre-season training.

“Many people have criticised us for the way this process has been handled but the laws of Fifa and the rules of competition in some countries have meant that we have experienced some problems.

“But they are over now and a new chapter in his career can begin.”

I didn’t know he was criticised for the whole loan thing, does anyone know about that? Not that it really matters but hey. I am looking forward to the pre season because we are likely to see alot of different combinations and chances to plays like Vela and a few of the top end youngsters coming through the ranks.

From what I have seen, I like the look of Vela, I like direct quick players but it is important to realise that it is very unlikely that we will see Vela properly for a few months at least. 95% of players, especially young players are given time to adapt to a new league, country etc etc

The Adebayor to Milan rumours have resurfaced again. Sky sports have realised an article stating which strikers manager Carlo Ancelotti has his beady eye on.

“We will sign one of Drogba, Eto’o, Adebayor or Amauri. All of those players have perfect characteristics. said the manager

Well as both Eto’o and Drogba look certain to leave their clubs during the summer it is really not worth talking about.

Manuel Almunia wants no excuses at the end of next season, which is fair enough unless referee’s are blatantly not giving decisions to us and we get one of our strikers injured with broken bones not to mention the other endless amounts of injuries throughout the course of the whole season.

“The season may not have ended very well for us, but this was the year to push us for better things,” Almunia told Arsenal TV Online.

“Next season there can be no excuses not to fight for the Premier League until the end of the season.

“We need to be at the top for the whole season, not only at the beginning or the middle – and that is in all competitions as well.”

I have to say, probably second behind Flamini Almunia was our most improved player last season. I was very worried about him being our number 1 goalkeeper and thought it was a mistake but he has filed me with confidence with superb displays on the whole. He probably made the least amount of mistakes out of the top 4 goalkeepers. He made alot of key saves that some fans seem to have erased from their memories Hopefully he will start the season alot more confident and assured than he was at the start of the season past.

Have a good day. Drop your view in the comments.

Until tomorrow.
