Ade to Milan is rubbish, Villa could never replace him

It doesn’t stop David Villa being a great player who has openly claimed that he wants to join us but I just feel that there is more important areas in the team to fix.

If you haven’t yet noticed, we are still spinning around on this transfer roundabout, the trouble is the ride has just started and it won’t stop until August. I wish I didn’t get on this ride and just waited to see how it turned out at the end. Why? Because it is getting on my last nerve.

Emmanuel Adebayor has not long come out and said that he has no reason to leave and he supports the manager then some random hit demanding website claim that he has shaken on a deal at AC Milan and all is left is for the Italian giants to meet Arsenal’s £32 Million asking price. Rubbish, I refuse to get sucked into it.

Alot of Arsenal fans are rubbing their hands saying it would be great business to sell Adebayor for £30+ million and use £17 Million of that amount of buy David Villa. Sounds good doesn’t it?

Erm, not totally no. David Villa is a very very good striker with great movement and excellent finishing and would surely score bucket loads in our team with the likes of Cesc, Hleb, Nasri (I’ll get onto that in a second), Rosicky, Walcott etc supplying the Spaniard. But the question is my mind is who do you partner him with? Van Persie? Eduardo? Vela? The whole reason for Wenger going out and buying Adebayor in the first place was to give our team something different, a focal point. Someone powerful and physical who can lead the line and score the type of goal that he scored against Tottenham (a), Aston Villa (a), Fulham (a)*2, Ac Milan (h). Powerful headers. What would then be the point of Eduardo if we have Villa?

Some have argued with me that we need proven goalscorers and I would argue that only really Vela is not proven to score goals in our side at the moment. Not consistently perhaps but we all know that Nik Bendtner can score goals given a chance as he has proved from the bench this season and for his country, Walcott has broke his duck and ended the season in good goalscoring form. Carlos Vela is the unknown at the moment, even Arsene does not know how he will settle in the Premier League but he has all the correct attributes to be a success either this coming season or the one afterwards.

Back to our old friend Samir Nasri. I was sat at home watching Sky Sports news and that little ticker banner at the bottom was scrolling through and I saw Nasri and Wenger’s name in it. I didn’t have the time to read it so I pressed rewind and paused it on the news. ‘Wenger says Sami Nasri’s wage demands are the reason for the transfer delay’ “You’re joking!” I shouted out. I was praying that it was not for that reason. I much preferred the legal paperwork excuse. If we cannot agree a wage now, how the hell are we going to do it after what everyone predicts a big tournament from Nasri.

How frustrating. He has obviously had the medical, we have agreed a fee with his club and we must be quite far away with our offer because we have had enough time to sort it out.

I wonder what the actual figures are. I have a nasty feeling that it won’t happen. This sounds crazy, I shouldn’t even be saying this in public but I will as I am feeling rather sharing today. When I first heard the whole Nasri to Arsenal transfer and it became apparent that it wasn’t just a tribal football, Goal.com made up story I could not get my head around him playing for Arsenal because I could not imagine him in an Arsenal shirt. Whenever I have said this, the transfer has never happened. I couldn’t imagine Ribery in the shirt, I could not envisage Modric in the shirt. The funny thing is I can see Villa quite clearly in the Arsenal shirt.

Not that I have any super powers or anything… I knew I should have shut my mouth fingers.

Is it just me? Or are you enjoying the whole ‘I want to join Real Madrid’ speech from Ronaldo? It is about time they got the same crap as we suffer. How would you feel as a Manchester United fan knowing that a player who has scored 40 of your goals last season wants to leave. No matter who they go out and buy to replace him it will almost certainly weaken them.

It will be interesting how Ferguson and the board deal with it.

Oh and it case you didn’t know.. Hleb is close to joining Barcelona..Still!

On that note, it is goodbye from me, have a good day. Leave your thoughts in the comments.

Until tomorrow.
