I’ve Ade enough of it all now

My guess would be that Adebayor is very happy at Arsenal and wants to stay but his agent is helping him try and get the best deal possible which is obviously fair enough and it is what you do when it comes to negotiations.

Dispite the conflicting statements from Adebayor I expect him to remain an Arsenal player next season unless AC Milan or Barcelona lodge a bid that is to hefty to turn down in which case Arsene could well cash in on a player who he paid around £7 million a few seasons ago.

I am going to take a back seat on the Adebayor rumours now, it is tedious now. The trouble is when you stop talking about all the rumours that pour out in the newspapers and Internet websites, there is very little to talk about so it is a kind of catch 22 situation.

I am looking forward to the Euro final today. I want Spain to win for the obvious reason and also the fact that they play beautiful football. Hopefully Cesc will get the start that he deserves. He could have quite easily been the player of the tournament had he played every minute of every match.

There was a very good comment left by ‘Paul’ yesterday and I wanted to add it today. I do not always get the chance to respond to comments because sometimes I add a MyVision and then have to go out (like today) but I always read them, usually in the evening so keep leaving comments.

Anyway, this is the comment left by Paul yesterday..

For 38 years I’ve watched many gunners teams and greats, since the 70/71 double. This team IS the best of the lot. Why? Arsene is working towards a legendary team; his plans are deliberate and long-term, he is systematically putting together a team of younger players each one on the verge of big time with specific skills and potential, and creating a playing style from a young age – the fast passing game – that will explode to life when the core players have played together for 2-3 years, and know each others movements instinctively.

We have only seen the start of this process, and in one season scared every ‘big team’ shitless. Ade would be a loss, Hleb less so, but I only worry if the main young core is broken up; that core now is Cesc, Diaby, Song, Denilson, Sagna, Clichy, Eboue, Theo, RVP, Bendtner. As for Senderos and Djourou – defenders take longer, need more experience and tend to be older, so these two will take a little longer, but the potential is obvious, Senderos will be a great defender. There is an amazing youth line up itching to get to first team level, and some will.

Watch out especially for Traore, Ramsey and yes, Hoyte. Now comes Nasri. Deliberate. He fits. Eduardo back. He fits. Rosicky back, wonderful. Vela, Oh my, he fits. The other thing to realise folks is that these young guys you are so down on will suddenly mature, beef up and wise up, much like we have seen in Ronaldo and Cesc. Many last year were almost boys. Recall 2 years ago Ronaldo was good, but a bit silly and weak. Today he is the best attacking midfielder in the world, and strong. Cesc is better and this season he will show why, he plays a thinking game. Our boys will also beef up and wise up, except in our case we have a dozen of them, not one or two. Mark my words.

Wenger is going for gold, and not for a year, but a decade. I support Arsenal whatever, but what Wenger is trying is more ambitious than any other club, and if it works it will make a legendary team, so I watch and applaud him just for having the guts to try. What an adventure he is taking us on, we are the lucky ones. I feel sorry for other teams, their boring ‘big’ cocky purchases, they all look the same. We are a BIG team.

I would have to agree with 99% of that, we are going to be a massive team for many years due to Arsene’s forward planning.

Right, must dash. Have a good day. Drop your view in the comments.

Until tomorrow.
