The only position we could watch Diaby flourish is in Cesc Fabregas’s creative role but as we know it will not happen. So how to do you go about incorporating someone as talented as Diaby?
Post Train Journey – UPDATE: (It will make sense in a minute) Sami Nasri has officially joined the club at long long last!
Wenger Said:
“We are delighted to be signing Samir Nasri. He is young, quick and technically an outstanding player. He has shown great potential with his performances for Marseille and the French national team over the past two seasons and he will add great quality to our squad.”
Sounds good Arsene, Nasri also had something to say.
“I’m very happy to become an Arsenal player, it means such a lot to me. This is a very important step in my life as a football player because Arsenal is a massive club. I really hope everything will go well for me here. I will do my best for Arsenal and its fans and I am honoured to be part of such a great football club.”
That is nice to hear. The funny thing is, now it has happened, I have sod all to say about it. I hope he can settle in quickly and become better and more productive than Hleb. UPDATE FINISHED:
Train Journey – Good Morn.. no, not really. It really isn’t as far as I am concerned. Three hours sleep makes this a terrible morning (drinking late on a week night is bad, ok?!) so apologies to what is likely to be a very short entry today as I doubt I will be able to finish 5 lines before sleeping and dribbling all over myself whilst on a packed train.
Did you know that Hleb was going to Barcelona? See! I get all the hot news. Also new and undercover is that Adebayor could well be leaving the club to join AC Milan or Barcelona. Needless to say, keep this news to yourself.
Bloody heck, I am struggling.
Oh yeah, I didn’t mention Gilberto yesterday, I was supposed to but completely forgot about it. So it looks like he could well be off to ply his trade in Greece. What a professional this guy is, unfortunately we do not come across people like Gilberto very often in football, infact even outside football. It is hard to find a genuine guy who is willing to give his all even when the going isn’t as good as it should be. Gilberto did not moan, complain, fire insults at his teammate for taking his place.
If he does go then I say with all my heart, good luck fella in the rest of your career. It is people like Gilberto who deserve big money from a transfer and not the short term thinking mercenaries like Adebayor. The sad thing is that in reality Adebayor could well be earning three times what Gilberto could be earning.
A lot of fans are saying that he is past it after last season but in truth you cannot really judge last season as he didn’t have a pre season and he was in and was not able to get a run of games together to regain his form as Flamini hit the ground running last season.
After the success of Flamini last season I cannot imagine Wenger going back to the sitting holding player in front of the back four as Flamini’s all action box to box style really gave the team another dimension. Many people do not agree with me but I think Denilson is a player who has the potential to make that step up next season as Flamini did last year.
I really want to see the best of Diaby in central midfield, because like everyone else, it is difficult for a player to display their full potential coming in and out of a side especially when you have never had a long run in the side to give you the confidence and adjust yourself to the speed of the game. My issue is that Diaby could not do what either Flamini or Gilberto did. Naturally he isn’t that player. Arsene has tried him behind the striker in certain semi experimental matches in Europe. That tells you what type of player Arsene thinks he is, an attacking midfield player. Perhaps Arsene decided to keep playing on the wing to protect his ankle in the short term to give him a longer term future.
The only position we could watch Diaby flourish is in Cesc Fabregas’s creative role but as we know it will not happen. So how to do you go about incorporating someone as talented as Diaby? A 5 man midfield would allow someone sitting behind Cesc and Diaby which would be fantastic as far as the midfield goes as you would still have the passing creative edge of Cesc with incorporating the driving skilful dribbling of Diaby. Of course you lose a lot further forward with one man up by himself. We looked a lot weaker in terms of scoring goals when we played with Adebayor by himself last season so we can hit that on the head.
The Radamel Falcao rumours have turned up a notch as the player has claimed that Arsenal are interested in taking the forward to England.
Falcao told The Sun: “I know there is interest from Arsenal and that excites me.
“If there is an agreement between the clubs I’m ready to go. It would mean a huge leap forward in my career.
“I can guarantee my financial future. The Premier League is sensational.”
I know nothing about the dude, so I cannot really comment on anything at this stage. Ah ha, I just remembered I recorded an International match featuring Columbia, without checking it I am not sure if he played so I will have a look when I get home tonight.
A bit of a back to the future style My Vision today, it probably didn’t even make sense, but have a good day. Drop your view in the comments.
Until tomorrow.
