Wenger boys are back / Hleb, shut it!

But how very dare Hleb who I have lost all my respect for start blabbing his mouth to the Spanish media about how Cesc could follow him to Barca?

Monday 21st July 2008, today is the day where a majority of the Arsenal players return to training. Nasri should be introduced to his new team mates as well.

Depending on the reason for Carlos Vela’s absence he may also take part in training today. Wouldn’t it be nice to have live footage of the whole training but obviously that is top secret stuff, we wouldn’t want other clubs spying on what we are practicing on.

How about a 20 minutes skills free style session featuring Manuel Almunia and Philippe Senderos?

Jokes aside, it will be interesting to see if Emmanuel Adebayor finds his way to London Colney. Arsene Wenger has spoken about the Togo hitman’s wage situation.

“I’ve not met many people who do not believe they have a case to improve their contract,” said Wenger in The Sun.

“I fight to get the players the maximum wages, but you have to respect that we have a wage structure.

“I want to keep him and let’s see.

“Adebayor is under contract. He is an Arsenal player and I am very confident that he will start the new season with us.”

Interesting comments from Mr Wenger. I want to keep him and let’s see That did not sound 100% to me. My gut feeling is that Wenger would let him go and he has players in mind to replace him but it all depends on what other clubs offer us.

I do not think Arsene has a lot of money to spend and it depends on what players are moved on to finance any major signings.

The Telegraph have written a piece on how Gallas and Van Persie are next on the way out. Nothing substantial or anything. They just decided that is the case.

Apparently Juventus are going to snatch him off us for £15 million. The Telegraph say that they are considering that amount. So someone from Juventus phoned the Telegraph and said ‘Hey guys, we thought we better tell you that we are considering a £15 million bid for the last 17 minutes’

Did I tell you that PSG are set to offer £6 million for Gallas?! Hey, I’ll have a bit of that. Shame its all rubbish though.

I didn’t mention it yesterday because I wanted to dedicate all my attention to the Barnet as I loved the positives. But how very dare Hleb who I have lost all my respect for start blabbing his mouth to the Spanish media about how Cesc could follow him to Barca? Infuriating is not the word!. Yes I am sure he was set up with a question for a journalist but why would you give that kind of answer after all what your previous club has done for you?

How about saying something like ‘Cesc is his own man and he loves Arsenal. I couldn’t speak on behalf of Cesc Fabregas but who knows.

But no, that is asking to much of these ungrateful creatures who happen to find their way in and out of Arsenal football club.

Theo Walcott has been challenged by manager Arsene Wenger to establish himself in the first team.

“Theo Walcott made a step forward last season – and we expect him to do that again this time around,” Wenger said in the Daily Star.

“Last season, his target was to play 15 or 20 matches, but this season he must try to become a regular player in the Arsenal team.

“Can he break into the England side? That is what I wish. He is 19 and at that age you have to improve. I don’t set any limitations on how much he can improve.

“I just want him to get better every day.”

He was obviously a little rusty and lacking ‘a little bit sharpness’ (one of my favourite Arsene phrases) but the way he played towards the end of the season was an indication of what he can do. I expect him to start the season on the right. Not quite sure who will start out left as Tomas is currently doing what he does best. Will Wenger blood Nasri straight away? Or will do an Eduardo?

I suppose the Emirates cup and Amsterdam Tournament will give him more answers.

Have a good day. Drop your view in the comments.

Until tomorrow.
