Aaron Ramsay is infact a better prospect that I thought. He is better on the ball than I thought. Ramsay is very skilful and turned away from players very well.
Interesting match yesterday, I must admit I wasn’t quite expecting 10 goals, especially 7 first half goals. Burgenland’s defending was embarrassing to say the least. Armand Traore started very well and caused the Burgenland’s back four all sorts of problems. For some reason they did not know how to defend the flanks. Traore, Bendtner, Vela and Wilshere were having endless amounts of joy from that area and the funny thing is that they didn’t learn from the same problems time and time again.
Once again young Jack Wilshere looked a wonderful player. Full of invention and technique. He supplied Bendtner with yet another reverse pass which is turning out to be his trade mark. Someone like Theo Walcott would benefit greatly from Wilshere in a few years time.
Bendtner started very slowly but improved as the game went on, his first goal (a powerful drive from the edge of the box) gave him confidence in his game.
Bendtner is a top finisher, his slide finish into the bottom corner for one of his goals showed his ability. Bendtner could well be the 2nd best finisher at the club.
Aaron Ramsay is infact a better prospect that I thought. He is better on the ball than I thought. Ramsay is very skilful and turned away from players very well. Obviously he is playing against far inferior players but you can see his technique is of the highest order.
Carlos Vela is another player who I can see making a big impact this season. He is cool infront of goal and creates chances. A typical Arsene Wenger player.
I am looking forward to seeing how these players gel with the first team players. On Wednesday Arsene said that we are likely to see the likes of Nasri and other internationals play against Stuttgart.
Robin Van Persie may feature on Wednesday and the Dutch striker has been speaking to Arsenal.com about his fitness for the coming season.
“Last year I missed too many games and I am still disappointed about it,” said the Dutchman. “But that is life. That is football and things can happen. I accepted it.
“This is a new year with new chances. Hopefully I can be injury-free this year. Last year I played 16 games and scored seven goals — that is nearly one out of two. It is not too bad.
“I just want to have the same results this season with a few more matches.”
I may just be pessimistic but I just cannot imagine Van Persie and Rosicky going the whole season injury free. I hope I am wrong, I really do. The trouble with injuries are not just the players being out during that period but it is then a case of getting match sharpness which can take weeks.
If we can keep Van Persie, Cesc, Toure, Clichy and Rosicky fit for 80% of the season then we can achieve anything we want to. Those players are as good as any in the Premier League.
Have a good day. Drop your view in the comments.
Until tomorrow.
