Arsenal players remember their jobs / Van Persie crocked already?

The question that I have probably missed over this week is why wasn’t the attitude there against Fulham? What state of mind where they sent out in?

I am back after a week away and I must say, I am glad to be back.

Just thought I would write something brief as I have silly amounts of unpacking to do and sleep to catch up on.

I got home just in time to watch the match against Newcastle and was impressed with our display. I will talk more in detail tomorrow about the actual game but it appears that we have picked up since THAT game against Fulham which I missed due to being stuck in traffic on the way to Dorset.

I found a quote from the manager very interesting, as he was describing the difference between our last two performances against the game at Craven Cottage.

“I believe that the improvement comes from a completely different attitude. We have shown that against FC Twente and we have shown again here”

We know that Arsene boosts their ego’s, fills them with confidence. That is how he gets the best out of players. Does Arsene over inflate sometimes?

This is not the first Arsenal generation under Arsene that has looked arrogant against ‘inferior’ sides.

We looked like we played against Manchester United today, full of hunger, determination and work rate.

I will talk more about Eboue, Denilson, Nasri and Van Persie tomorrow morning.

What I will mention though is yet another injury issue with Robin Van Persie. We do not know how serious it is yet but it is very frustrating that it is him yet again.

Wenger said:

“He is having an x-ray and we have to check his ankle. Hopefully nothing is broken but I don’t know yet.”

Will Van Persie one day become a player who doesn’t get injuries? Is this going to stop him from being the world class player that he should be? Thierry Henry had such a remarkable injury record in 90% of his Arsenal career. He could play 3 times a week and still look fresh. Van Persie has trouble playing once a week at the moment. More questions to think about.

Back tomorrow.
