Djourou or Silvestre, who is next in line?

I can almost imagine the news of Gallas injury bringing a slight smile to the face Djourou until he felt dizzy and light on his feet due to the concussion

We have been slightly lucky with injuries before the latest round of useless games. This time round luck has deserted us. The physio room will be a noisy place this time as William Gallas, Bacary Sagna and Nicklas Bendtner will all be unavailable due the dreaded National team injury curse.

I can almost imagine the news of Gallas injury bringing a slight smile to the face of Djourou until he felt dizzy and light on his feet due to the concussion he received playing for the Swiss.

Luckily for him his concussion isn’t serious and he should be available for the Everton, however I am sure Mikel Silvestre had his arm up in the air, stating that he will not let the side down if chosen. Lets hope that a change of club can be a positive step in the career of the former Manchester United defender.

It will be interesting to see who the Manager selects.

Luckily our next match is at The Emirates *Hull City flashes in my mind as I write that*

Everton have had a pretty bad time so far this season which is not necessarily a good thing. Have you noticed how teams get back to form against us? ok, maybe not as often but I certainly remember that a few years ago.

More positive injury news is that Robin Van Persie, Cesc Fabregas should be ready to play and Abou Diaby (remember him) is back in the squad. I am not sure that he will be thrown straight into the team as he is a long way away from actual match fitness.

Cesc Fabregas has once again come out and set the record straight.

“Arsene has built an unbelievable squad here,” said Fabregas on the club’s official website. “We have great spirit and I have complete trust in the manager’s policy.

“Arsene is the best at giving youngsters a chance. No-one else comes close to him for that. He doesn’t care how old you are, as long as you are good enough, and has the confidence to give young players a chance.

“Anything said to the contrary is simply not true and I would like to reiterate to all Arsenal supporters that I am 100 percent behind the team and the manager.

“The future is bright. Players like Denilson, Theo Walcott and Samir Nasri have shown real class this season and I’m positive we have the quality to challenge for the title.

“We’re the envy of every other club and it’s so exciting to be a part of that.”

There were some very interesting comments on the site yesterday about the state of the club at present. I can see both sides of the argument in regards to experience and youth and I think the answer as always lies somewhere in between.

All we need is a run of good form and increased confidence and this team will go far. How far will be answered at the end of the season.

Back tomorrow.
