Hello Gooners.

Firstly, I would like to say apologies to those who couldn’t get onto the site yesterday, the site was down because some pardon my French.. Wanker! decided to hack into site and divert it to a disgusting picture of a naked bloke (probably himself) I wish him much harm and bad lack in the rest of his good for nothing life.

If you were unfortunate enough to see the image then I hope you are not mentally scarred.

If you weren’t scarred by that then you could have been after another abject performance from the Arsenal team. As much as this side has immense talent and quality I am beginning to fear for them, only because they are so young and may not be able to pick themselves up.

This result was not as bad as some of the others in my opinion. The passing was terrible and our attacking threat was pretty much non existent, that is down to confidence and form but we looked like we gave a shit. Before the heads went down the players were working to close players down and make things happen. The trouble is that our football sides are built to play football and nothing else so when we are not playing well, which clearly we weren’t yesterday then the likelihood of us grinding out any sort of result is pretty much close to zero.

One thing I would like to talk about is our system and personnel. In the last two games we have not scored a goal which is very unlike Arsenal. But when you look through the side that played yesterday you have to ask yourself, how are Arsenal going to score. Two deep strikers paired together with a static, sideways passing midfield. Where are the runners? Where are the players who spin off their markers and run into space? When you look around the whole squad you can only really say that we only have a handful of these players. In the first team squad we have Theo Walcott, an inconsistent 19 year old who is now out of action for at least 3 months. Then you have Adebayor who is half the player he was last season. Even the big man tends to ignore the benefits on the penalty area in favour for the left wing. Players like Nasri, Denilson and Cesc are wasted when there is no movement ahead of them.

It is no wonder that we didn’t look anywhere like scoring goals.

We used to witness Henry baring down on goal and slotting it past the keeper so many times during a season, this season I am scratching my head to remember 3 separate occasions. We are now a team full of midfielders. Half of our back four were midfielders (Toure, Djourou, Song) our midfield is packed with central midfielders, Van Persie is a player who doesn’t really have a position in my opinion. He is a central attacker to me, not an out and out striker and not even really a deep striker. Bendtner is a link player and NOT a target man. He does not do that job well. He could get better in that role but right now he is comfortable with a strike partner ahead of him.

I would love to see either Vela or Eduardo get a long run in the side, because it will improve other players behind them. Having said that, how can you drop Adebayor or Van Persie if they are playing well. Perhaps I have just answered my own question.

I have not had the chance to speak about the Gallas axe (see picture above) due to the site being down yesterday but I have to agree with the decision to strip him of the captaincy. Thank you for David for giving us the news far before most out there.

If there was a team meeting minus Gallas and this was the outcome then I do not expect him to be at the club for much longer. Wenger will not want any negative influences at the club. Forget what he has said to the media, he has said the same for others in the past who have gone eg Jens Lehmann. I just hope he has his eye on a center half in January. If not then it will have to wait until the summer, when clubs can afford to let go of their best players more so than January.

I am pleased that Djourou has finally been given his chance in the first team. It would be interesting to see what the Toure Djourou partnership would be like, although it might lack a bit of leadership. I could probably say that for the rest of the positions I guess.

There seems to be many ‘Wenger’s time is up’ headlines flying around at the moment, which is a shame. This is probably the most amount of pressure he has faced since he has been at the club. We have 3 world class players to come in but they will take a few years to grow and adapt (Wilshere, Ramsey and Vela) so it is down to getting players back fit and the January window to correct the deficiencies in the squad.

What we must not forget from the game yesterday is the amount of players we had out.

Sagna
Toure
Gallas
Walcott
Cesc
Eboue
Rosicky
Eduardo
Adebayor

That is almost another team, most of which are first choice players. Any team in the world would be effected by 9 first team players out. The way the team played yesterday I would bet that the injured team plus a goalkeeper would win in a match.

Goalkeeper
Sagna Toure Gallas
Walcott Cesc Eboue Rosicky
Eduardo Adebayor

Not a bad side is it?

Right, better make tracks and all that. Have yourself a splendid Sunday.
