Please can Arsenal have a bit of that luck for 2009 please? Especially after flukey victories over Everton and West Ham along with gift wrapped Christmas presents from our own team

Morning! wow, haven’t said that in a while. I am super organised today and it feels good (puffs chest out) didn’t feel so good last night though. I was watching the second half of the Hull City vs Aston Villa match and was impressed with the way that Hull City were playing football, I thought that Hull would find the winner as they were in the only team in it, worst comes to worst it will finish 0-0 because Villa can’t even get out of their own half. I drifted asleep for about 10 minutes which felt like a couple of seconds, I awoke to a score line that I didn’t want to see. ‘For gods sake!’ I screamed out at the screen.

It was ok though because Hull City were awarded a stoppage time penalty which wasn’t even a penalty, haha! take that and your stupid good luck O’Neill. But the referee rightly changed his mind after consulting his linesman.

There is not much Arsenal football club news going on at the moment as the players take a mini break from playing Premier League football but the newspapers are bogged down with work right now. They have piles and piles of paperwork on their desks that they are going through.

Lets talk about the latest shall we?

Mikel Arteta. Very good midfielder, one that I rate highly. Good passer, Premier League experience, around 26 years old so a good age. Sounds great doesn’t it?

Ok, can someone tell me where this story came from? From what I remember Arseblog mentioned two midfielders that he would like to see join the club (along with Scott Parker) then it has been spoken about on various blogs and Arsenal websites and now it is in the national papers and I heard Mike Parry talking about how Arsenal want Arteta. It is just plain funny how quickly a rumour can spread and how far it can go.

You can understand the link though, he is pretty much the kind of player we need. Some may even argue that he is better than Alonso and more versatile. I just cannot see Everton letting go of one of their best players for anything close to what we would be willing to pay. Unless of course we included a striker as they are desperately short in that department right now. Bendtner would be the obvious candidate but I cannot imagine Bendtner wanting to go to Everton and would Arsene want to let him go? That’s another question.

According to Bendtner himself, he doesn’t want to go anywhere.

Bendtner said: “I don’t think about all the rumours because I am an Arsenal player and really love it here. I hope that I can stay here for a long time because to me Arsenal are the dream club.”

I would advise all of you to look at the source of the rumour before choosing to believe or not. I have fallen into the trap myself many times.

The Daily Star have come up with the story that Toure has handed in a transfer request because he cannot get on with William Gallas. An Arsenal source has apparently let the cat out of the bag.

Super secret source says:

“Kolo doesn’t want to stay, he cannot stand Gallas and Gallas cannot stand him,” an Arsenal source is quoted as revealing in the Daily Star.

“Gallas is showing him complete disrespect and Kolo believes he’s been mouthing off to Wenger about them not being able to play together and Wenger is listening to him.”

We all do not know about their relationship or apparent non relationship but we do know that their relationship on the pitch has taken a turn for the worse this season. It appears that we already have a replacement on the way in the shape of Pape Diakhate of Dynamo Kiev, The Sun also say that Manchester City and Portsmouth are also looking at the player.

That is really about it, tomorrow is the opening of the transfer window so prepare for rumour overdrive. Happy new year to you all.
