I am most intrigued to know what kind of team Wenger will put out against Cardiff who would have been inspired by the Burnley fight back. I hope Wenger gives Ramsey the chance to play against his old club so he can show them what he is slowly growing into
Just when you thought it was safe to read a blog without THAT name cropping up, out pops Arshavin’s name once again. Apparently the Zenit board are gathering around their big marble table to discuss the offer presented from Arsenal. They will order in some Pizza’s with cans of fizzy pop (don’t you love that name?) and have a good old natter about it. After a few games of Pro Evo 2009 and play fights together they will fax Arsenal their answer, I hope they are in a good mood.
Today is the deadline, well the new deadline, because the old deadline was another day. Hopefully we can hear something positive creeping into the news today or tomorrow. I am not quite sure what will happen, it feels like there will be another obstacle waiting around the corner but maybe that is because I want it to happen.
Arsene Wenger has been saying plenty about saying nothing.
“It is in the newspapers, but not from our side. We are quiet and we know what we want to do,” Wenger told Arsenal’s official website.
“We will keep that as quiet as possible and for as long as we can.”
“You have to accept that in the transfer market, sometimes you go for a player and that sometimes it happens, and sometimes it doesn’t happen.
“But I am very happy with the squad I have and will only add someone who can give us something special.
Andrei Arshavin is certainly a player that can give us something special. Wenger says that we are not close to signing anybody else, I am not sure that it will be the same by the 2nd February. We have got our injured players coming back which will be a massive boost to the squad.
God is being kind to me at the moment which is all good. The In laws were supposed to be coming down on Sunday which would have stuck a major sized spanner in the works in regards to watching the Arsenal match, but they rearranged for Saturday. God is clearly a Gooner.
I am most intrigued to know what kind of team Wenger will put out against Cardiff who would have been inspired by the Burnley fight back. I hope Wenger gives Ramsey the chance to play against his old club so he can show them what he is slowly growing into. Aaron Ramsey seems like one of those players who step up when it is needed and relishes challenges, that is certainly the kind of player we need in our squad.
It is great that we shall be having a fit Eduardo back in our squad soon at long last. His finishing will be important at the so called business end of the season where results are crucial.
Eddie appears to be ready to hit the ground running.
I think I am ready for the first team but you would have to ask the boss,” the striker said. “I feel very well and I’m training hard every day. Of course I want to come back quick and strong. Now, every game for me is a big step.
“In my head and everything I am ready. I am happy with the 90 minutes tonight on a very hard pitch with all the hard rain. I needed time in the Reserves to get my match fitness back.
“But playing my first game for the first team, I am ready now and I am just waiting for my chance.”
So he is chopping at the bit but the boss will be more cautious. I don’t think he has forgiven himself for rushing back Robert Pires early and then his creative chief doing his knee in which kept him out for so long.
I was flicking through YouTube as you do, and I came across some Eduardo clips. wow. What a cool finisher this guy is. You certainly had a better feeling when he was through on goal compared to say Adebayor. I remember one game last season in the FA Cup when Eduardo missed a chance and I was already celebrating and not quite sure what had happened, because Eduardo doesn’t miss. I used to get that feeling from Ian Wright back in the day.
Anyway, this is what we will have for the remainder of the season should he find form and stay fit.
I’d certainly have a bit of that. Some games we creative so many chances and do not take them, Eduardo is the one player who seems to end up in the right positions. He is a penalty box killer and sometimes penalty boxes need to be killed. I don’t think we will see him start a league game for some time though.
I shall talk more about the Cardiff match tomorrow with predictions and so on, enjoy your day. I’m about to enjoy a hot curry! hmmmm.
Back Tomorrow.
