Brek Shea Heading To Arsenal Following Klinsmann Advice (Video)

Brek Shea has been dubbed the new Fernando Torres by some which is a tad harsh on the lad. He is only 21 and there is no need to ridicule the poor lad. I guess his upright running style and blonde hair may have something to do with the comparison more than the lack of goals and heavy price tag.

If the rumours are true then Arsenal will be welcoming a guest by the name of Brek Shea to London Colny for a month. The 21 year old who was born in Texas currently plays for FC Dallas. He will be joining up with his national side for the upcoming friendlies against France and Slovenia.

He will then be making the trip to London following the advice of former German striker Jurgen Klinsmann who is currently the coach of the USA ‘soccer’ team. Klinsmann has encouraged his MLS players to have a taste of life at the top level so they can grow and improve as players. What better place to go than Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.

Shea is a versatile player who has played in both midfield and attack. He has even featured in defence since his first team debut. Since 2008 he has scored a total of 17 goals in 77 appearances which could be where the Torres similarity comes from.

Apparently Arsenal were chosen as his temporary destination because the two clubs have a strong relationship. He is set to return back to FC Dallas in time for pre season on January 15th 2012.

For karma purposes, I would like to apologise to Torres for the jokes at his expense. I fully expect Torres to find the form that made him into one of the best forwards in the world, just hopefully not when he visits us at the Emirates.
