Spurs pass the ball maybe we can use them as our feeder club because lets face it, they are not a big club who will challenge for anything are they?
I couldn’t do an entry yesterday as my account was suspended by my lovely friendly host. I don’t know why they were so fussed about not paying them! tut tut.
Anyway, all is back to normal now.
Nice win yesterday from the boys. It wasn’t our usual flair and wonderful football but we saw another side to this team. We worked as a team and defended as a unit. Which will bode us well for the season if we continue.
Poor ol Freddie ey? He made another one of those runs that made him so famous at Arsenal and stuck it past Almunia. But we are getting the rub of the green at the moment and the flag shot up, although he was in an onside position.
Hleb’s injury is not as bad as first thought but he definitely misses the Champions League tie against Steaua Bucharest. What is it with our wingers this year?
Away from football and back to finances. Arsenal managing director Keith Edelman says that Alisher Usmanov does not want to take over the club he just thinks that the club is a good investment. Is this really true? Why is David Dein involved if Alisher Usmanov just wants to make a profit? I don’t quite get that.
Theo Walcott has been talking about his plans for this season. His target before the season was 25 starts and 10 goals which wouldn’t be bad for a wide player would it?
He spoke to the Independent on Sunday about his performance against Newcastle in the Carling cup.
“I thought I did all my jobs right, worked hard, got crosses and shots in, did everything but score really.”
“This season I’ve set very high targets really, of 25 starts and 10 goals.
“The thing I’m concentrating on in my game at the moment is the final third, making the right decisions about whether to shoot or cross.
This is something Theo really needs to address if he is to improve as a player. Far too many times Theo has made the incorrect decision when in possession. He doesn’t have the football brain that Cesc had at that age, well who does I guess.
“But I don’t want to put pressure on myself about getting goals, just work hard in training and do my jobs right.”
The more Theo plays the better he will be. I would rather we sent him on loan to gain some match experience and brought in a winger in January. That way he would benefit from playing football and start learning about making the right choices. As long as it was a team that played football. Spurs pass the ball maybe we can use them as our feeder club because lets face it, they are not a big club who will challenge for anything are they?
