Robin Van Persie and Abou Diaby will be in the squad also. My guess is that Arsene wants to prepare them for the clash against Chelsea.
Either they will start the match and be brought off about 60-70 minutes or they will come off the bench with half an hour or so to spare. It will be great to see Robin back again after so long. We have missed his explosive shooting and link up play.
Arsene Wenger will be watching the match from the stands after his ban in Spain. Our manager is not worried about the situation, especially as we are already through.
“I will make my normal preparations with the team as always in our hotel,” Wenger explained at his pre-match press conference.
“I will, of course, be separated [from the players] during the game – but I believe it is not a big handicap.”
I just hope that his ban is not extended, that will not be the best way to face a potential European giant.
Cesc Fabregas does not have a date set on his return as yet according to Arsene Wenger which is a little baffling as Cesc jogged off the pitch when he was taken off against Sevilla.
“We haven’t set any date for his return yet,” said Wenger. “He is not with the group at all; he is with the medical people being treated.
“He is working very hard. He is very impatient but he is not back yet.”
The sooner he is back the better, hopefully this is a smokescreen and Cesc will be back against Chelsea with new added muscles and sprinting power of Walcott.
I think a good performance is better than a win tonight, so good luck Arsenal.
