West Ham thoughts and Predictions + Arshavin flies in, or does he?

Arsene said that he may rotate a little with the FA Cup match coming up on Tuesday but to be honest I don’t know where he can rotate really. I would have imagined that he would have rotated against Cardiff instead of a very important Premier League match

I must say this is definitely one of those games that I look forward to. Myself like most Gooners love good football and in 2009 it seems like football is different in the Premier League than it used to be. 95% of teams we face, home or away set out with the sole objection to stop Arsenal playing football. I can understand it because they know that we are the superior football team so a point against Arsenal especially at the Emirates is a good result but it is not pretty.

Gianfranco Zola’s West Ham side have been playing some good football and are on a great run. They are similar to us in the fact that it is not natural for them to just sit back and defend. They like to attack and create chances for their inform striker Carlton Cole.

I am usually very confident when we play West Ham at home and we are going through a good run of unbeaten results so I am hoping we can do well today but I have a feeling that it may be a little harder than previous visits to Arsenal.

I was watching Sky Sports news this morning and it told us of Arsenal’s current injuries which looked like this

Arsenal vs West Ham: Injuries – Eduardo, Fabregas, Walcott, Silvestre

Tomas Rosicky has been injured for so long that they have forgotten about the poor chap.

My guess will be that Eboue will replace Alex Song which will allow Denilson to be shifted inside alongside Diaby. I don’t think Wenger can afford to rest the man of the moment and the teams inspiration Van Persie and Adebayor has just been rested so I am unsure if Bendtner will get the chance. Toure could come in for Djourou if Wenger feels that West Ham do not pose much of a threat from set pieces, although perhaps Wenger feels that Sagna could do with a rest which would make sense as he wouldn’t have to drop Gallas.

In all truth it is very hard to guess what changes Wenger will make because we as fans do not know which players are in need of a rest and which players are fitter.

Mean Lean’s Predicted Line Up

Mean Lean’s Match Predictions

Arsenal 2 (Van Persie 2) West Ham 1

I am hoping for a good game with attacking football. I can imagine West Ham scoring today but with Van Persie in the form of his life I expect us to beat them and stretch our unbeaten run further.

Daily Dose of Arshavin

Well the apparent latest according to the ever reliable Sky Sports News is that Arshavin is flying over to London to discuss terms. It would make sense as Arsene said that he wants it resolved before todays game. Well there isn’t much in the way of time. I am a little wary of any news that comes out about him though as probably at least 50% of it has been bullcrappy crap crap.

That is it from me, we will find out one way or another in the next few hours I hope.

Fingers crossed that the boys in red and white can claim three points. COME ON YOU REEEDSS!!!
