The British sporting media make me sick

Instead of the press tearing apart Phil Brown’s daily changing stories about Cesc they choose to portray Cesc as the Villain, and now Cesc Fabregas is apparently walking around like he owns Arsenal

Usually the British sporting media just make me laugh, on the whole a majority of them do not know very much about football and their obvious attempts to create a scandal is just embarrassing.

This evening I find myself very annoyed and angry about yet another blatant attempt to disrupt our football club. It seems like an easy target for the press is the Arsenal captain. Not just this Arsenal captain but any recent version.

Patrick Vieira took over the captains armband from the great Tony Adams and soon found himself continuously targeted by the media, Thierry Henry was next in line and the media couldn’t wait to bring out the stories that linked him away from Arsenal football club. The William Gallas appointment meant open season from the media. Now our little Spanish maestro is following the same path as our foreign captains before him. Does fact that he or the captains before him being of a nationality other than British have anything to do with it? I cannot say, I do not have any concrete proof to say that. But the question I can ask is why are captains such as Gerrard, Terry and Ferdinand not given the same treatment?

Why isn’t Steven Gerrard being ridiculed for his alleged ‘assault’ why isn’t John Terry about to leave Chelsea to go to Milan?

Instead of the press tearing apart Phil Brown’s daily changing stories about Cesc they choose to portray Cesc as the Villain, and now Cesc Fabregas is apparently walking around like he owns Arsenal. Yup, the News of the world have an ‘insider’ oh didn’t you know that? They have many great insiders, especially at Arsenal. One of the ants that work for them was hiding in the Arsenal dressing room, and when Cesc left the dressing room the ant overheard the rest of the players saying how Cesc was big for his boots.

This is obviously nothing but fact. But its ok though, because Cesc is off to Real Madrid or Barcelona. It doesn’t matter that his father came out yesterday to confirm yet again that his son is happy at Arsenal. Don’t let facts ruin another great shit story.

I am not even going to quote this ‘insider’ character, not going to waste our time. A friend of mine had a good idea, a good way to alert others to this anti Arsenal campaign. Someone should make a video with proof of all these negative jibes directed at our club and give examples of other clubs getting different treatment. I would like to do this if I find time, unfortunately I have been looking for time everywhere but I still cannot find it, so if anyone else is up for it then that would be great. Contact me if you do.

Let me end on some positive news, our strikers hit the back of the net for their countries yesterday. Adebayor scored the only goal of the game for Togo and Van Persie headed in for Holland as they cruised past Scotland 3-0.

Right, enjoy your end of weekend.
