I think Gibbs has more goals and assists in him than Gael Clichy even at this stage in their careers but Gibbs has someway to catch up to Clichy’s overall high energy game.
Happy Tuesday to you,
Tuesday’s are one of my favourite days of the week, I look forward to playing a football match in the evening usually followed up with a healthy post match meal of KFC. Wenger wouldn’t have to change my diet, I got it all sorted. I assume that Wenger has his scouts out at Battersea park watching me do the stuff that I am not doing very well. Now that I am 30, I assume that I will be offered a one year rolling contract. I think I shall fight for three years though. I’ll keep you posted.
Don’t be surprised to see this rumour on the back of the Daily Mail tomorrow if they get around to reading today’s blog, they have a bunch of top of the range journo’s who read through the Arsenal sites and give to the fans what the want to hear. Hangeland, Cana, Velso, Yaya Toure spring to mind.
ok, waffle over with for a second, I would like to congratulate Kieran Gibbs who capped his full under 21s debut with a brace in a 7-0 victory over Azerbaijan. He also created another for Craig Gardner. Apparently he started at left back then went into central midfield after the break. The fact that he has played most of his Arsenal career at left wing just shows how versatile this guy is. He has a bright future in the game so hats off to him.
I have heard him speak a few times and he appears to be a very likeable and intelligent guy unlike the last English left back we had at our club. I think Gibbs has more goals and assists in him than Gael Clichy even at this stage in their careers but Gibbs has someway to catch up to Clichy’s overall high energy game. Whatever happens it is just great to see two quality players fighting for a spot in the Arsenal team. With Vermaelen increasingly likely to join the club and his ability to play at left full back it looks as if we will be well stocked in that area for the coming season.
Robin Van Persie has welcomed the potential signing with open arms.
Robin said:
“There’s nothing wrong with the qualities of Vermaelen. He can play as left-back and central defender and we need this type of player. The guys that we now have on those positions are already somewhat older.”
Without any bids being lodged it looks as if players are already jumping the gun and turning us down.
Firstly Yaya Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk for some reason would not like his client to come to Arsenal and not get paid insane wages. I don’t quite know why he would be so concerned about how much money his client could earn, I am sure it is nothing whatsoever to do with his own wallet *sarcasm alert*
Seluk said:
“If Yaya does leave then it wouldn’t be for Arsenal because there are many teams interested in him and offering much better wages.”
Also Edin Dzeko, the Wolfsburg hotshot has plumped for a move to Ac Milan if it was to come available to him.
Dzeko said:
“They [Milan] have always been my favourite club, right back to my days as a small boy, growing up in Sarajevo.”
Cue outraged Gooners complaining about how we are not ambitious enough to get players, you will hear many pretend like they have followed this player before the link a few days ago.
Such is life I guess. Still not much going on today so I shall make a sneaky exit.
Enjoy great Tuesday, back tomorrow.
