Arsene Wenger has said that he is unsure if his ex captain will be able to play against his former club due to an eye injury that he picked up against Standard Liege. Apparently he is struggling to put his contact lenses in right now so the countdown begins
We are edging towards the weekend and for me, my nerves are started to surface. The Arsenal Chelsea game is pretty big on a few different levels. The confidence the team will get from defeating Chelsea would be massive. Chelsea, the side that everyone outside of one half of north London believes have already won the league. I do not see it like that, not in the slightest. Chelsea have already lost two away games at teams that you would expect to pick up points against, Arsenal have done the same so we are in the same boat. Chelsea have also played more home matches than us so far so when you look at our 100% record at the Emirates then you have to be filled with a little more confidence.
Having said that a defeat would put a big dent into the minds of the players. It is going to be a difficult game and we are going to have to be at our best if we are going to come away with all three points.
Arsene Wenger has said that he is unsure if his ex captain will be able to play against his former club due to an eye injury that he picked up against Standard Liege. Apparently he is struggling to put his contact lenses in right now so the countdown begins to see if he will make it in time. I am sure the club will do everything they can to make sure he is available, he is too important to the side especially against a tough forward line of Drogba and Anelka, two annoying strikers who have a stupid habit of scoring goals against Arsenal.
More of that to come in the coming days, Ole Gunner has sent me an interesting article about the game and what to expect so I shall be sticking that up in the morning so make sure you have a read of that.
Don’t you love the van Nistelrooy story. He is set to turn down Arsenal for Liverpool. What? On how many levels is that stupid? Far too many for me to count I’m afraid. Do I even have to explain why that made up nonsense is just insane? No, thank you.
I must rather the story about Bergkamp wanting to get into coaching at Arsenal. He wants to coach strikers, I mean how good is that? Imagine being Sanchez Watt or Gillies Sunu and coming in every day to be taught from Dennis Bergkamp? Sorry, I mean coached by Bergkamp and get paid for it? How bloody unfair is that?
Bergkamp said:
“I want to work and train a team in England, Not as a head coach but instead as a member of staff, where I could work specifically with the strikers.
“Being a coach means you have to work 24 hours a day and that does not suit me. You have to watch matches at home, travel to see other teams, prepare training – it is something that I am not ready to do.”
If any of his talent or vast knowledge could rub off on a young player then that player would have a great chance to making the grade at the highest level. I suppose it depends on how Wenger’s backroom staff work, could Dennis fit into Wenger’s current structure. You would imagine so, after playing under the manager for so long.
ok, short post today.. or evening *he says glancing at the time* it has been one of those days I’m afraid. Back tomorrow with My Vision about 1pm GMT and don’t forget Ole Gunners article at about 10am GMT.
Have a good evening Gooners.
