Did you watch the Wimbledon final? Great stuff. Not a massive Tennis fan on the whole but have a decent knowledge of the game and always enjoy Wimbledon.

Our old nutter Chairman Peter Hill-Wood has been talking to the ever so polite, friendly, never harm a fly press about our players availability.

“We want him (Adebayor) to stay,” Hill-Wood said in the Daily Telegraph.

“Adebayor still has a long time left on his contract and we have absolutely no intention of releasing him from that contract.”

I am not sure about that one. ‘we have absolutely no intention of releasing him from that contract’ I cannot help but think that Arsene feels that he is willing to part company with Adebayor if the right price comes along. I have always backed the striker and love the fact that he gives us another angle, another dimension but make no mistake, he is not irreplaceable as the likes of Cesc and Clichy are to our side.

It could well be mind games on behalf of Arsenal in attempting to get the highest price possible.

Hill-Wood’s view of Alex Hleb appears to be somewhat different to that of Adebayor.

“Hleb has made it clear he wants to go,” Hill-Wood added. “I think maybe he will go.”

That would indicate that a deal must be pretty close to take him elsewhere, probably to Barcelona. Which to me is a shame as I regard the fella as a top top player.

There is something exciting about pre season. You look out for player improvements and how new players adapt to their new club.

I remember being at Leyton Orient (I think) for Gilles Grimandi’s debut and I thought he was a defender with a creative defence splitting pass. I called him the new Frank Leboeuf on the way home. haha, that is what pre season does to a fan.

Oh I have some news on Arshavin. How could I forget. Well, listen carefully. He brushed his teeth this morning and he had sore gums so it bled which indicates to me that he wants to wear the red (blood) and white (teeth) of Arsenal instead of Chelsea and Barcelona.

Me being the king of organisation, planning things to the split second. Means that I have to stop this now as I have to buy a card and present for my sisters birthday which is today.
