Adebayor to Man Utd on a free? I didn’t think so either / 4-3-3 switch?

According to the press Adebayor and Manchester City cannot find an agreement on his wage demands and is being offered to Manchester United even though the United boss has claimed that they will not be spending anymore money

Hello there again Arse fans,

I’ve just finished reading through the comments on the defence of Adebayor article that I wrote yesterday, quite a split of opinion as I thought and I want to reply to so much that has been said but I didn’t have the chance to read them yesterday so I am a bit late now. It is quite frustrating for myself as usually after I post an article I have work commitments or family commitments so I cannot always follow conversation. Why am I saying all this? erm, I guess it is to say that if anything is directed to myself then I am not ignoring the comment I just simply haven’t read it.

As much as I would like to move on from the Adebayor saga I think it will be rather difficult to escape it until he either leaves the club or stays. According to the press Adebayor and Manchester City cannot find an agreement on his wage demands and is being offered to Manchester United even though the United boss has claimed that they will not be spending anymore money. Perhaps Adebayor is moving on a free, interesting stuff going on behind the scenes.

Whatever happens, I just want it to happen as quickly as possible, if quicker he leaves the sooner Wenger can bring in others into pre season which is vital. If Ade stays which is highly unlikely at this point in time then we need to get him up to speed with the others in the squad.

Although I think we will be losing a key figure in our squad, his departure would allow for more fluidity amongst our front players. We played some wonderful attacking football against Burnley (yeah, I know) in the FA Cup and that day we had Carlos Vela, Eduardo and Bendtner. The idea of having Van Persie, Arshavin and Eduardo as a threesome could be quite mouthwatering in many games. I do wonder how the team will cope with defences who are pushed quite high up the pitch limiting space in the middle of the pitch. Van Persie and Eduardo are not the quickest of players and you wouldn’t imagine Arshavin playing on the shoulder of a center back but like all things pre season, we shall wait and see.

Melo has signed for Juventus, but we all knew that ages ago didn’t we? Alex Hleb could leave at the end of the year if his situation doesn’t improve. Bless him, has it all of a sudden got too loud in Barcelona? To be honest I do not care.

As there isn’t much news going around today I would like to point you towards the direction of a documentary that is being released on the 1st August to coincide with the emirates cup against Atletico Madrid in anticipation of the next season.

The Gooner Review is a feature-length documentary on Arsenal’s 2008 -2009 season created by the fans, for the fans.
