Arsenal No to Nic / The Real Arsenal Back?

Behind the scenes we are grooming the future of English football, teaching them how to pass the ball to another team mate under pressure instead of whacking it forward into an area

Happy Lunchtime to you,

I am writing part of this before lunchtime but I know I am sitting next to something yummy, not quite sure what it is yet.

So what did you make of Arsenal TV? I have read a mixed view about the channel so far but I actually like it. I already have a very bad habit of sitting infront of skysports news and listening to the same thing over and over again. At least I can watch and listen to Arsenal news over and over again instead. (yup, my life is so fun!)

It was interesting to hear what Arsene said about Anelka, I got the feeling that Arsene wanted to buy him but either the price was an issue or the board did actually frown at the idea of Le Sulk coming back to Highbury Arsenal. (I still have a habit of thinking that)

Bless his little cotton socks, he wanted to put things right. He wanted to be adored by the fans again but naughty Arsenal did not let him.

Anelka would have certainly given us that extra dimension upfront. But what would we do with all the rest of our strikers? When everyone is fit, and yes that does include Van Persie. We would have Adebayor, Van Persie, Eduardo, Bendtner and even Theo that is 5 strikers for two starting positions. Plus Arsene is not going to offload any of those players as they will all improve.

Arsene Wenger has said that he could well field an all English 11 at the club sometime in the future. The press and other clubs have criticised Arsene and Arsenal for the lack of English players in the current Arsenal first team squad, but people fail to realise the lack of talent available, especially for the prices. I would love for someone like Steve Coppell to justify spending £29 million on Rio Ferdinand or £150,000 on Kolo Toure. Can a writer from the Sun newspaper please explain why Arsene should spend a whopping £28 million on Rooney instead of paying £2.75 million on Robin Van Persie? Behind the scenes we are grooming the future of English football, teaching them how to pass the ball to another team mate under pressure instead of whacking it forward into an area. Liam Brady and Steve Bould are teaching the kids to move into a space to receive the ball straight after the pass has been made. All these features have been missing from the English game for many years and only now is it being corrected. Hence the reason why we do not have loads of English players.

Looking forward to the Fulham match, I have a feeling that the real Arsenal will stand up. Had we had beaten Birmingham by scoring the second goal before they equalised then I think the recent Arsenal would have continued. But this will be the type of performance and result that will get the players focused on what needs to be done again. If Rosicky and Van Persie are added to the match day squad then I think Arsenal will score 3 goals against Fulham. We will be more penetrating and direct and hopefully it will see us back inform for the 16 game run-in.

Possible early line up.

Almunia
Sagna Gallas Senderos Clichy
Hleb Flamini Cesc Rosicky
Adebayor Eduardo

Lehmann, Gilberto, Diaby, Denilson, Van Persie

That is just my inkling.
