Szczesny has been a breath of fresh air. He looks to be focused and has this look of someone who is confident in his own ability. He has pulled up some very good saves, gathered almost everything in the air, communicates well with his defence and his passing, both long and short have improved a notch. Our keeper situation is looking to be secure with him manning the post and we have got Fabianski and Viviano to keep him firmly on his feet. Only bodes well for us.

7 games into the new season, top of league and we have done that missing key personnels. The international break comes at the right time, hopefully in 2 weeks time Santi, Theo and Podolski should be nearing fitness and rearing to go.

We started the season in a less than palatable manner but how we have regrouped, steadied the ship and climbed to the summit of the table is something we can all be proud of. The boys and manager should be praised for their work.

I’ve been impressed with a couple of our players. Players that have gotten stick rightly or wrongly, you make of that what you will.

Gibbs is another one that has improved in leaps and bounds and effectively relegated Nacho Monreal to the sidelines. He rarely gets protection but still his defensive contribution is up there with the best. He also adds a threat going forward and with time, I see him bagging a few goals with the way he arrives at the opposition’s box.

August ending, it was confirmed we had signed Flamini on a free, Gooners world over raised eyebrows, he wasn’t the marquee signing we so desperately needed, heck he came on a free transfer. If he was needed, Milan wouldn’t let him leave on a free transfer, little did they know he rejected Milan’s advances to renew. Little did they know also that he was key to Milan’s rise to 3rd spot last season. Flamini is a talker, a leader and also comes into the side with a wealth of experience. He has already proved to be an inspired signing.

Our best player so far this season has been no other but Aaron Ramsey. How he has got himself in this state has been nothing short of brilliant. Booed and cursed to no end, confidence at rock bottom yet he has become one of the 1st names on Arsène’s team sheet. He tackles, intercepts, runs up and down, gets himself into scoring positions and scores with aplomb. Thing with him is he can only get better and that in itself is a real joy.

Giroud also hitting the right notes, he has scored goals but it is not his goals that has tickled me the most but his overall play. The  Game against Napoli was one game that really showed we have got a player on our hands. If we play to his strengths, he is going to terrify defences with his movement, aerial ability, technique and the way he brings others into play.

At the moment I think it is difficult to ask for a better depth than what we have presently. Thing is, media would have you believe otherwise. Pay them no heed.

Interested to see how Arsène sets us up when we have Santi, Theo and Podolski back in midfield. Who starts and who sits. In my opinion first names on our team sheet are Ramsey, Mesut and Santi. Energy and Creativity won’t go amiss with these three that leaves two slots up for grabs. Arteta and Flamini to jostle for one slot and Theo and Podolski for another slot down the flanks. In all of these I can’t seem to fit Jack and Rosicky into our side, it is not a bad thing in all honesty, goes to show we are in good stead.
