20 goals in 46 games this year is a very good return for a 23 year old left winger. Given that he only has 3 assists in that time, I think calling him a wide striker would be more appropriate which is just what we need. Unlike the current incumbent of that position, Antoine Griezmann has pace to burn and pace was badly missing when Theo Walcott was stretchered off when we beat Spurs one of the three times this season. The trouble is, like Bender, there will be other eyes on the player so Arsène will have to get busy now and put in the hard graft if he is to secure this target
Arsenal’s World Cup Transfer Watch

So when the season is over and done with there will be little rest for the wicked as the world cup can almost been seen in the distance.
I shall be casting my eye on the talent on show and I am sure the boss will be doing the same because every man and his dog knows that reinforcing the Arsenal squad will be hugely important for the next season. So I thought it may be interesting to have a look at some of the teams this world cup and have a look at the possibilities of pinching a few superstars to make us competitive enough to go the distance this time. The issue though is time, it is difficult to do deals for the players who get through to the latter stages of the competition. www.freebets.com are tipping the Germans to get to the quarter finals for a reason. So hopefully Arsene can get his credit card out way before then.
Serge Aurier (Right Back) – Ivory Coast
Bacary Sagna has yet to sign a new contract and it is looking very likely that he will be heading to a new club this summer so Arsène will have to find a new player from somewhere as we only have Carl Jenkinson with any first team experience who can play that position. Even so, many feel that Gooner Jenko is not ready to be elevated to a first choice right back during a season where the fans want progress. Aurier will tell anyone who will listen that he is an Arsenal fan and the powerful 21 year old is fully capable of playing at centre back which is exactly what Sagna provided for us.
Lars Bender (Defensive Midfield) – Germany
Arsène has been hot on the tails of Bayer Leverkusen tough tackler and has made approaches in the past. Leverkusen continue to hold onto his ankles with all their might. But Arsenal have money in the bank and could tempt with a quite PayPal payment.
Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini are moving away from their peak years and Bender seems a nice combination of the two but with youth on his side at the age of 25.
Antoine Griezmann (Left wing) – France

Josip Drmic (Striker) – Switzerland
The rumours are not going away young 21 year old Josip Drmic has surprised many this season with his ice cool finishing for struggling FC Nürnberg. Can finish with both feet has the acceleration and dribbling skills to complement or replace Oliver Giroud in the Arsenal attack. He might not be the big name player that some were hoping for but his performances and goalscoring may just erase thoughts of big names if he can transport his end product into the red and white of Arsenal.
Not only should the world cup be exciting to watch for Gooners but we may well be watching some future heroes of our great club.
