The funny thing is that all these players have not picked up any problems prior to their respective international

Good afternoon,

At long last the International friendlies are over. Hopefully we do not have any major injury concerns and that includes Flamini. Arsene Wenger has spoken out about his dislike for International friendlies.

“That is one (round of international friendlies) you could do without,” Wenger said after hearing the news of Flamini’s injury.

“I think that if you did a poll of all the clubs involved in the Champions League I wouldn’t be surprised if 100 per cent of them said let’s get rid of it.”

I can understand that it generates cash and no matter what we think money is always going to come before common sense but they really need to do something about this. Football clubs pay their staff (footballers) to play for their clubs and some of the big teams have to compete in 4 competitions, that is alot of football for a normal sized squad.

The big clubs can only have a squad of a certain size to keep all the players playing football and being happy so it does not matter how much a player is being paid they can only manage a certain amount of games during a season. Being paid £100,000 a week does not stop injuries, heavy legs or tiredness.

Arsene Wenger has worked so hard to get his team fighting for the Premier League. We have missed Robin Van Persie for a large chunk of the season due to picking up a knee injury during his time away for his country. Kolo Toure has currently been sidelined for the Ivory Coast due to an injury he picked up in Ghana. Flamini is the latest player to have suffered the International curse. The funny thing is that all these players have not picked up any problems prior to their respective international matches playing for Arsenal.

Mr Walcott is back in the media again like he has been alot of late, he has said that he is willing to be patient in order to play regular football for Arsenal.

“I’m patient – I signed for Arsenal and didn’t play for seven months so that shows quite a lot of patience. But I’ve got to perform to play.

“Things are developing well at the moment and if I get a consistent run of games I’ll get better.”

I think patience is the correct thing for Walcott at the moment of time because to be honest he is not quite good enough right now, but I do believe he will be in the near future.

Congratulations to Adebayor for becoming Arsenal January player of the month. He clearly deserves it. Well done big lad.

Update: The flamster has spoken out for the first time about his injury

“It is just a little tight spot behind the right thigh,” Flamini said.

“It is nothing serious, I hope I’ll be ready for Blackburn.”

Phew! That is some good news. Until tomorrow.
