Arshavin off, great joke / Real in for Rooney / Chelsea in turmoil

So what happened was, a Sun reporter (if you can call them that) walked up to Arshavin who was walking down the bread cheese isle in his local Tesco’s

Oh no! Just when you thought our pre season couldn’t get any worse along comes the Arshavin hammer blow!

Cesc is pushing for a move to Barca, Sagna and Clichy are off to Real Madrid and now after only half a season at Arsenal Andrey Arshavin is moving to Barcelona. I cannot believe this is unfolding in front of our eyes. All we have signed is a really short 5ft 3in defender from Holland, I am beyond depressed now.

Well, this could well be the case if you live in the world of the tabloid press. The Sun have waited a couple of days before they made up some more bollocks about one of our players leaving.

The Sun have obviously rehashed an old quote from when he was playing for his former club Zenit St Petersburg.

Arshavin said:

“If I have the chance to play for Barcelona, I’d be really happy.”

Are you asking for the rest of the quote? If not then you should be. Well here is the answer… there is none. None whatsoever.

So what happened was, a Sun reporter (if you can call them that) walked up to Arshavin who was walking down the bread cheese isle in his local Tesco’s and said Andrey?, would you like the chance to play for Barcelona?

Then out popped his answer and he walked off, if he didn’t have to buy some milk he would have continued with ‘I want to leave Arsenal right now, I hate it here.. oh and I love Manchester United’

Is it me of has the tabloid press reduced its already extreme low quality reporting? Even the complete fabricated bull seems to be created by a 12 year old.

No disrespect meant here but if you fell for that then you really need a bit of help, unless of course you are 12 yourself, in which case time can be a great healer.

ok, lets talk defence now. It looks like we have let go of two youngsters. Paul Rodgers to Northampton and Abu Ogogo to Dagenham and Redbridge, so good luck to them and lets hope they have a progressive future. Maybe Liverpool will spend £17 million on one of them in a few seasons time. Now there is a great example of how to run a football club. How glad I am to be an Arsenal supporter.

Linking in the first and second topics together, the rumour on the back streets of North London is that we are interesting in signing Stuttgart defender Serdar Tasci.

Tasci speaking to spox.com said:

“I have the ambition to move clubs one day, but the time and circumstances have to be right for me, I have to admit I’m flattered that clubs like Arsenal, AC Milan and Juventus have had their eye on me in the past.

“But I’m not getting carried away with this. I’m focused on Stuttgart and looking to return to action following my knee injury.”

Being interested in someone in the past doesn’t really give enough information does it? It may have been something we looked at a few seasons ago and no longer have an interest in the player, it may also be a recent interest and we are lurking to pounce or it could be the player just using our name to engineer a move elsewhere.

The fact that he can play right back and center back, and given that he is only 22 years old would make plenty of sense for the squad as after Sagna our choices at right back become somewhat limited. Especially as Eboue is not the best defensive right back we have ever had.

But like 99% of stuff being churned around the media, it is just speculation and will probably fizzle out into a big fat nothing.

We can finally put the Melo speculation behind us now as he signs a new deal with Fiorentina. Like I said yesterday there was nothing to suggest that we were actually interesting in signing him.

And it is goodbye to Amuary Bischoff who is off to seek pastures new. Good luck to him.

As there is not much going around right now, I thought I’d bring you a round up from other clubs just to keep you in the know.

ROONEY SLAMS FERGIE, REAL COULD SWOOP

Wayne Rooney is on course for a collision with Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson after being played out of position for his club side.

Rooney has publicly stated that central striker is his best position and where he sees himself in the future.

“I want to play in the position where I feel I’m best. A lot of people think I’m best as a center forward.

When asked if he can score the goals that Ronaldo has he replied.

“I’ve said before that, if I can play in my right position, I’m capable of doing that.”

Rooney is said to be angry about the departures of key players.

“We’ve lost two key players. Between them, Cristiano and Carlos scored a lot of goals for us last season and the season before

Arsenal Vision understands that Real Madrid could turn their attentions to the England forward after losing out on David Villa to arch rivals Barcelona.

ROMAN ABRAMOVICH COULD BE OFF AS CITY SNATCH CHELSEA TARGETS

Chelsea owner could be set to ditch Chelsea as he becomes more and more frustrated with losing transfer targets to new super rich club Manchester City.

A source close to Roman Abramovich said ‘Carlos Tevez was a massive target for Roman, he done everything he could to sign him from Manchester United but Manchester City are just to powerful and he fears that he will be outbid for any future players that he wants’

Manchester City are set to upset Chelsea further by swooping for Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o.

Chelsea playmaker Deco hit out at under fire owner about the treatment of Luiz Felipe Scolari.

Deco said:

“Sometimes Abramovich makes decisions that go over the head of the director of football. The exit of Big Phil was rash.”

TOTTENHAM ARE STILL THE LAUGHING STOCK OF ENGLISH FOOTBALL

Nothing more needs to be said.

Not sure why these stories are not in along with the Arshavin story today, it is a little unfair to have one without the rest.

Disclaimer: Just so I don’t get a good telling off, none of the stories are true, especially the Arshavin story. Abramovich’s source was just me, I was pretending to be a mystery man but I don’t want a slapped wrist so there.
