Arsenal players go down holding body parts after ‘tackles’ I a not talking Eboue type of going down, I am talking about warriors like Bacary Sagna and Thomas Vermaelen who do not go down unless they are properly hurt. It is no surprise when you think about the manager they have in charge. A dinosaur who still plays 1980s football. One big man up front, two wingers. Get stuck in, get in their faces and hurt those fancy Dan Arsenal boys, they don’t like it. Our players really need to sort that
Good afternoon to you,
Before I move onto the main topic of the blog today, I just want to express my recent dislike for Liverpool FC, a club that I have looked up to for so long. A club that a very young glory hunting Mean Lean took under his wing as a casual fan and when I finally saw sense still respected a club that had so much history in English football. But this season they have joined my own personal disgraceful league which includes regular league winners Stoke City, Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspurs.
The handling of the Suarez shame was ridiculous and irresponsible and on the weekend I found myself watching a more cultured Stoke City. Rotational fouling from many of their players and some of the challenges were outrageous. How many times did we see Arsenal players go down holding body parts after ‘tackles’ I a not talking Eboue type of going down, I am talking about warriors like Bacary Sagna and Thomas Vermaelen who do not go down unless they are properly hurt.
It is no surprise when you think about the manager they have in charge. A dinosaur who still plays 1980s football. One big man up front, two wingers. Get stuck in, get in their faces and hurt those fancy Dan Arsenal boys, they don’t like it. Our players really need to sort that out you know, every other team in the league loves being taken out by the ankles.
I saw the Jordan Henderson ‘incident’ on Sky Sports at the time and like many, I thought it was just accidental. We only saw one angle of it and these things can happen. The brainwashers also known as Sky Sports told us all it was unfortunate so why should we think any different. It was only until I watched another angle that I realised that it was totally deliberate.

It wasn’t shown on Match of the day either so there was no talk of it in the evening. These incidents have to be watched over and over again from multiple angles from the television companies to create their highlights shows and to find stories so why was this not picked up?
Supporters of clubs always feel that they are victimised, I am sure there are plenty of Liverpool fans who think that the referee was biased towards Arsenal, not sure how but you can be sure that is the case but would this have been brushed under the carpet so easily if it was Robin van Persie?
His arm in the face of a Fulham player was picked up and spread all over the place even though it was absolutely nothing compared to Henderson’s take out of Mikel Arteta.
You would have thought that the fact that Arteta went off with an oxygen mask on his face would have been cause enough to have looked at more angles of the incident.
I often wonder and ask why, what I perceive as negative press heads towards Arsenal and Arsene so often and the response I usually get is because bad press sells. Talk of x amount of red cards in x amount of games sells, talk of x amount of years without a trophy sells. It sells newspapers, advertising clicks etc etc.
That would make 100% sense and still does but I find myself scratching my head as to why this same bad press isn’t used to sell at other clubs.
Why are we not repeatedly fed the same lines about Liverpool’s trophy drought? Now that they have won the Carling cup all we hear about is how ‘king Kenny’ has brought the cup back to Liverpool. What happened before that? Why did Sky Sports lose their tongues? But you could not get through a sentence without the words ‘Arsenal’ and ‘haven’t won a trophy’ in it.
Anyway, I have taken a wrong turn somewhere and now sound like I am feeling sorry for ourselves. I wanted to know why the Henderson act of violence has been brushed under the carpet when there is clearly a story to be sold.
I take it this has something to do with the good old Kenny Daglish, returning to save Liverpool from their foreign influence over the years and now he has built a squad full of English grafters to get Liverpool back to where they belong. That is the perception and the media do not want to deviate away from that.
Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal is the team of fancy Dan’s who do not like it up em and cannot win trophies, because of cold nights up north and who moan and complain like little girls.
Anyway, this wasn’t supposed to be the main topic but my blabbering has pretty much made it just that. Those who are responsible for reporting the actual news will not do so, so it is down to us to point this stuff out. If you are going to phone radio shows then perhaps instead of talking about wage bills we could change this false perception of us. Once it is out there then they have to entertain it, if it is not spoken about then as is the case today, it simply does not exist.
Attentions now turn towards trying to make the impossible, possible as Arsene has said, and normally I would be well up for this. If AC Milan were to catch us on a good night then anything is possible, especially with a pitch that actually looks like a pitch. But to achieve the impossible or to even give it a full go we would have to play with the same intensity as we did against Tottenham. Closing down all over the pitch, hunting in packs to win the ball back early and press the fast forward button on our passing and movement.
The problem is, we find ourselves in a great position for a Champions league place as I have already mentioned in the blog, we have already been kicked from pillar to post and have Gibbs, Benayoun and perhaps even Arteta out for the game. Robin van Persie had an ankle problem playing for Holland, Vermaelen also had a problem yet played 90 minutes for Belgium.
My concern would be that we go full throttle tomorrow and then lose even more players to injury, perhaps even season ending injuries. It is tough enough trying to battle for the top four with everyone fit let alone with key players sitting on the treatment table.
You never know when injuries turn up but you can do your best to prevent them from occurring. I want to see the team flying out of the traps and pressing all over the pitch against Newcastle and not the tired display we saw against Liverpool.
I want us to take the third place away from Tottenham and give us the best chance of buying the players we need early in the summer window and not having to go through missing out on players as we did last summer due to the need for guaranteed CL cash.
Once we have rebuilt our new squad then we can put all our eggs in the trophy winning basket but not at the expense of making us stronger for the short and long term.
I am not sure how much Arsene is able to rotate and we could see a strong side against Milan so I will just hope that we can do the double impossible, pick up no new injuries and then get our current walking wounded back for Monday night’s clash against the barcodes.
My fear is that something has to give but hey, we shall see.
Before I go, I would just like to quickly inform you that a Your Vision article will be up on the site later this afternoon so be sure to check back later.
