Your Vision – Suarez the Pros and Cons as a Player

Suarez is a different style of player to both of these two but has a skill set that I believe would excel in the role. He is quick, an excellent dribbler, strong on the ball and excellent movement off it; his ability to drop off would be torture for centre backs who would not know whether to play a high line or drop deep and let him come on to them. His unpredictability also ensures that both centre backs need to play close together incase he beats one; this could be hugely beneficial for someone like Walcott who could exploit the space in between full back and centre back if they can strike up an understanding, something that I feel could happen given how quickly Sturridge and Suarez linked up at Liverpool.

Your Vision – Arsenal’s Bac-man:A tribute to Bacary Sagna

Sagna is a refreshing change from the current generation of footballers whose wild partying ways make Page 3 news on almost a daily basis. His  down to earth and humble manner have earned him much praise from fans and he remains a firm favourite with the Arsenal faithful.  When his brother Omar passed away in 2008 Sagna was scheduled to feature in Arsenal’s crucial knockout game in the Champions League versus the mighty AC Milan at home in the San Siro. The task was daunting enough for Arsenal as no English team have ever beaten Milan on the hallowed grounds of the San Siro. Despite his grief Sagna played the game and Arsenal went on to record a famous win. Such is the devotion of the player to the game that even in the face of adversity he looks it head on and conquers it.

Best to look at actions rather than words & A glance at the squad at present

In other news Jose Mourinho has spoken of his new love affair and respect with Arsene Wenger since he has left the Premier League. I did wonder why he danced around the chance to put the boot into Arsene and Arsenal during his first press conference back. One journo fed him a loaded question about Arsenal not winning a trophy during his time away but he declined the invitation when he previous he would have jumped all over us before the question was even asked. It is all well and good now, but the true test will be when the season kicks off and if we manage to be in and around them. Hopefully above them, and in fact everyone else. That would be nice.

Higuain and Suarez are not like for like & Old Suarez thoughts

Personally I would have preferred we spent £40m+ on another striker. Who? I do not know, honestly I couldn't tell you but I disagree with those who say, why spend £40m on Suarez when we could offer that for Higuain. They are not like for like players, they have different skill sets, they give the team different strengths. The idea of Higuain tucking away chances in the penalty area got me excited

Is the Bernard to AFC real? & The difference between summer 2012 & 2013

We are being linked with Brazilian wonderkid Bernard and I think we should be signing him for his name itself. I gets the feeling that there is something in this. It follows a familiar pattern of an Arsenal signing. Being linked with many players in the press for a while, usually really obvious names like Scott Dann or Chris Samba. But then whispers to come out from a source in that players country that a deal is close. Arsene then twists the question about the interest. Like 'that report is not

Nagoya Grampus 1 Arsenal 3 – Centre Bacary, Rambo returns & Goals

It was no surprise to see Ryo Miyachi start the game back in his home land and I thought he had started brightly. Pressed with purpose and looked positive in possession. Some of his decisions were not always correct and his passing was sometimes behind his intended target but the tools are there. Giroud played a ball to Walcott but really should have looked left to Ramsey, nevertheless the ball was handled in the box and Arteta kindly gave Ryo a chance to score in his country. To be honest I thought Ryo would miss his spot kick but I couldn't have been anymore wrong. Powerfully driven and right into the corner giving the keeper no chance.

Your Vision – Show me the money

Big deals take time. I know they always do. Actually no, not always but with Arsenal they most certainly do. Even when we're the selling club. Remember how long we dragged the sales of Cesc, Nasri & Robin?
So I try to comfort myself and look at the last time we concluded a big deal for a big player from a big club........ok fair enough not a lot of those to look at then. What about Arshavin that was a big one, yeah maybe, Wenger actually admitted he liked him during the Euros, and when asked in Al Jazeera if he would sign him he said that his style would suit us. So it's safe to say that there was interest in the summer. We signed him deadline day......winter window!
Henry's return, everyone new we would re-sign him 16 months ago. All through December the rumors were there.  We signed him one week into the transfer window! Surely it could have been done earlier. He could have played a game or two more. A memory or

Early Birds or Dawdlers, how Arsenal compare to rivals in the transfer window

This was Arsenal's most troubling summer due to the Cesc and Nasri dance. Five first team players came in during August which is crazy. I doubt we will ever see a summer like that one again. Interestingly Chelsea also signed all four of their players in August. We ended up finishing above our rich West London rivals even though our start was, well.. not great. Manchester United signed all of their players before July 20th and none afterwards. Our funny and embarrassing neighbours from down the road only brought in two players which is unlike them. One early and Sir Scotty of Parker on deadline day.

Arsenal not the only club playing waiting game / Sagna, Santos & Bernard Linked

Chelsea I have already mentioned, they have also snapped up Mark Schwarzer on a free. 'But FFS Roman! Why didn't you buy Cavaini or Falcao? Stop dithering' Why wait and spend all that money on Rooney who might not even leave Man U when we could have had a world class player already

Zelalem the runner lover (gif), Sagna’s CB trial? & Pressure free Giroud

Cesc and Bergkamp once did because you know he has the quality to find that pass. When writing those two names I feel that it is necessary to add the non comparison disclaimer. For once I think I can put the opposition to one side, regardless of who you are facing it takes an incredible amount of vision and the feel for the correct weight of pass to be able to pull it off. It is a skill that many first team players have not mastered and will probably never master. I love Tomas Rosicky to pieces and his threaded pass has never consistently matched the rest of his game. Jack Wilshere for all his talent has struggled with his final pass on many occasions. Away at Tottenham was a stand out game for me where his final ball let him down time and
