December’s there for the taking, but so are Arsenal

It’s difficult to point out where the problem with the current crop lies, if only because it lies in so many places. There’s a shocking lack of depth and/or confidence in some vital areas, holding midfielder and striker among them. Arteta has played every minute of every league game this season, and has felt an understandable pinch of exhaustion. We have to rely on Schrodinger’s Striker from the Coast of Ivory

Your Vision – In Arsene – I hope to one day – trust

I know I'm painting a dark picture here but bear with me. Let me start with Arsene Wenger, whether your pro or against him there's no denying the guy's a legend but unfortunately he seems to have lost his ways, he's not the manager he used to be. I will always remember our final game against West Brom last season, not because we clinched an unlikely 3rd but because that's the day I knew

Your Vision – Blind faith is still there.. just

We need a spark, something to create a run of form that will push power through and keep us fighting for Champions League qualification and possibly more. From previous seasons, I genuinely believe this will happen. Where it will come from is hard to tell, we can’t realistically expect a new signing for at least 6 weeks, if at all, only Diaby and Rosicky are coming back from injuries, and our next big match for the fans to encourage the players is probably City in mid-January. All games before this the team will expect to win, as we were this weekend against Swansea. We simply cannot afford any more games like that. It seems easier said than done to just say, “win the easy matches and the form will come”.  Hopefully it will be Steve Bould’s rant at the players that will create an

Your Vision – Looking for answers and a silver lining

I think it is important for us to remember that ultimately, Arsenal is a business, whether we like it or not. Businesses operate for a single purpose which is of course to make as much money as possible. That does not mean however that those who operate the club cannot share the same interests as us fans. We want to see the club win trophies and that is surely also in the board's interests too, as a successful team

Creative edge missing, Removing Podolski & Keeping Gooners

I haven't yet understood why when we need a goal in a game that almost the first player to be substituted is a striker who is playing out on the left. That switch for Gervinho was more frustrating that taking Giroud off in my opinion. I assume that Wenger has noticed that he runs less in the last part of games and that would explain his late changes, I remember the same happening to Dennis Bergkamp at one point during his career. But my argument would be that if you move Podolski into a

Montpellier (h) – Giroud makes ugly football oh so beautiful

Lukas Podolski had hit the side netting in the first half and then made up for it with the exquisite volley. It is exactly where we want to see Podolski. The more times he gets to strike the ball at goal the better for Arsenal. 7 goals in 17 games from a wide position is very good going for a player

Montpellier (h) Thoughts & Line Up: Gibbs could force Arsene’s hand & Ox meet Jack

Jack meet Alex, Alex meet Jack. These two exceptionally gifted Arsenal youngsters are yet to exchange passes in Arsenal shirts as yet, well at least in a match. I will go one better, they are yet to appear in a first team game together. They were close on the weekend but Wilshere was replaced before the Ox came onto the pitch. That could and should change this evening, well that is as long as

Tottenham (h) – Adebayor pulls Spurs pants down for Arsenal to spank

Santi Cazorla who had lost a bit in recent weeks was back to his best yesterday. I just love watching him play and the way he makes everything look so simple. Wilshere mentioned it recently but he doesn't just pass the ball to his team mates, he serves every pass up with its own unique identity. He plays with his own built in x button, passes are nearly always weighted to perfection regardless of the

Tottenham (h) Thoughts & Line Up: Arsenal need to use the enemy as a platform once more

The confusion is further enhanced with both managers waiting on the fitness of several first team players. That said, Tottenham have a habit of crying injury only to turn up with the full complement of players. They are heading into boy who cried wolf territory now so I will ignore it. Aaron Lennon and his magical waving arm is one player that is allegedly doubtful for the game and I hope this one isn't

You don't need me to tell you how that ended up. I think I will learn from my lesson though and give it another go and perhaps avoid betting on Arsenal games, instead choosing any of the teams from the Spanish, German, Italian or French leagues. Plenty to choose from
