My secret sadness about Anfield 1989

Since then I have felt the adrenaline rush when Bergkamp fired a long range strike to send us into the UEFA cup in 95 or 96, I must have fell down four rows in the northbank and injured myself in the process but not feeling a thing until afterwards. I enjoyed watching Alan Smith flick the ball onto the racing Ian Wright to dink past Chris Woods in the FA cup final on my first visit to Wembley. In the replay I got told off for making too much noise when Andy Linighan powered in the winning header late in the game. A more recent memory that seems to stand out for me was Robert Pires' goal at Aston Villa when he lobbed Peter Schmeichel. It stands out for me because I leapt up in a pub in Walthamstow and knocked over a table which had a number of pints on from people I didn't know yet I

Video: Arsenal FC: La Vie en Rose

There are many great videos in circulation at the moment, many on the cup final which is no surprise. Whether that be individual player performances or highlights of the game itself. I have watched most of them and all are very enjoyable. Hell, even Arsenal.com are in on the action with this lovely mini movie. But it often takes a little originality to stand out from the crowd. Our friend @frenchfinesse who created this excellent video on Arsenal Vision back in July 2013 which got me all emotional at the time :-)

Is Cesc a distraction we don’t need? / Turning his Bac on Arsenal

However I am wise enough not pay too much attention from a Tottenham supporter. However we faltered at the end and whatever the reasons were for the faltering you'd be a very difficult Gooner to please if you thought our league season was not an improvement on the season before. Seven points from top spot is a vast improvement on the sixteen the year previous. While the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea can play their own version of the what if game, at least we have been invited to the table. We were never anywhere near a title race last season and certainly did not win the FA cup.

Hull City (n) – Arsenal: FA Cup winners 2014

Going back to poor officiating, the referee and his assistant made the incorrect call on Sanogo's near post flick, assuming that the defender got the final touch. In fairness to the officials, this call was far more difficult to get correct but I guess you cannot give what you haven't seen. Arsenal delightfully capitalised from the corner. Giroud, Sagna and a couple of Hull City players contested the flighted ball while Koscielny went into secret stealth mode, tip-toeing his way into the six yard box like he had done a few weeks back against Newcastle United at home. He turned and flicked in from close range, barely getting a touch but just enough to fox the keeper and get it over the line. 2-2.

Hull City (n) Thoughts & Line Up: Any win will do

The players all seem to be pretty focused, driven and confident when interviewed which is good but talk is just talk. We will see how they do on the pitch. We froze a little in the semi final and did not have the freedom to express ourselves. We are in much better shape today though and Özil and Ramsey should be totally fit and sharp. I say this pretty much before every game and I'll say so again. I'd like us to start the game aggressively with and without the ball. Closing down at speed when we do not have it and when we do, move the ball quickly and inventively.

Fear of failure, Ramsey early goal & Hull’s approach

But I can't shake off the feeling that I am more worried about losing than I am winning if that makes sense. Don't get me wrong, I want us to win the FA cup, I want the players to taste a part of success because as you may or may not know, it's been a while since we have. I will be in full celebration mode if Mikel Arteta manages to end the day lifting that cup above his head.

Floorball Champions Cup held in Zurich in October 2014

IFF Secretary General, John Liljelund recently commented: “The stakeholders of the Champions Cup have during the last year discussed the ways to continue to develop the Champions Cup. All parties agree that floorball needs a top club competition, but at the same time we need to enhance the marketing value of the product and start to get a return on investment for running it. The stakeholders will still during the spring come with a proposal for how to conduct the Champions Cup in future”

Norwich (a) – Ramsey the striker we’ve missed

Rambo adjusted his feet to meet the flight of the ball and his controlled volley was sheer perfection. All this talk of us needing that other striker to play off Giroud, aren't we getting just that from Ramsey? Just like his burst into that centre forward position at Hull a few weeks ago Rambo was in the right place once again. A sumptuous finish. It is no surprise that Giroud's form has returned a

Norwich (a) “It still amazes me how many wrote this boy off after his injury” – Q&A

Well I think most of us were taken aback at Szczesny not being given a chance to claim that golden glove award. Would've been cheeky if Wenger subbed Fabianski off in the 90th minute. But I'm not going to read too much into it. We're the luckiest side in the world to be gifted with 2 world class keepers. I'm sure it was more a symbolic gesture than anything; ensure both keepers feature in both tournaments. There's very little between the 2 and regardless of who starts when, I doubt it will make any major difference to the scoreline

Noriwch (a) Confirmed Line Up: Fabianksi starts & Mertesacker rested

Yup as I thought, I had no clue as to what team would start today. Very interesting calls in goal and at centre back. What does Fabianksi starting in goal mean? Is it preparation for the final? Or is it a case of you have this one because Szczesny is having the final. I am sure we will hear more post match.
