Bentley will spend more time trying to stop Clichy

If there is one player who can keep him quiet then it is certainly Gael Clichy

ooh it is one of those slow news days today well at least at the time I am writing this.

Firstly I just want to thank everyone who has contributed towards the Your Vision section. After a rather slow start it has really picked up and I have read many good debates. The most recent is by Jeremy called Serious claim from Song?

Arsene Wenger has heaped praise on man of the moment David Bentley.

Bentley is having a good development in his career and I am very happy for him,” said the Arsenal manager.

“I let him go at a moment where I could have said ‘no, you stay here’ – but I was also conscious there were big players in front of him and he was not experienced enough.

“You have to consider is it fair to them not to let them go, even if it hurts you later.

“I knew there would be some stage where people said ‘why did you let him go?’ but when I make that kind of decision, I am then happy someone asks me that question because it means he has been a success elsewhere.”

If Bentley was in our squad now then he would have come through into the first team there is not much doubt about that. He has always had the talent and confidence although I am not quite sure how Bendtner and himself would be able to walk through the door at the same time without getting their heads stuck.

Bentley will be looking to cause us problems when he visits the Emirates on Monday night. If there is one player who can keep him quiet then it is certainly Gael Clichy.

Gael has the pace to get forward and get back in time before Bentley gets into advanced positions. Bentley will not be able to get past Clichy for pace but he can hurt the oppositions with first time crosses and passes as Beckham has done for years.

Alex Song will be fit to take part in the final of the ACN against Egypt who I think will win the trophy. I would rather Cameroon won with a last minute 35 yard rifle into the top corner by Song after flicking the ball around two players then balancing on his nose before back flipping through a strong tackle. We all know that the man is capable of such goals.

Good luck Alex.

As there is sod all to speak about right now I want to mention the Blackburn match. I am a little worried that our players have not played together for 9 days. We are never as sharp as we can be when it is international break, not only that but the length of time apart without playing a game is unusual for our team.

Hopefully we still have enough to get three points. More Blackburn Rovers stuff later and tomorrow.

Until tomorrow.
