Before the game we were reminded of the attacking greats of the past, our record goal scorer Thierry Henry walked onto the Emirates turf to a rapturous applause from the Gunners faithful, Henry looking a little sheepish waved and clapped to the fans who witnessed his rise to stardom at Arsenal.

Henry’s team has well and truly been consigned to history and Arsene Wenger’s new project has been patiently crafted and sculptured. Henry took his place in the stands and watched a footballing feast from the latest crop from North London.

There is only one place to start, only one person to talk about. The captain, the quarter back, the talisman Cesc Fabregas. The Spaniard returned from his latest injury looking below par, giving the ball away carelessly and not stamping his authority on games. I was amazed about how far away Cesc Fabregas looked from his best against Fulham but perhaps the turnaround started with his lovely chipped pass to allow Van Persie to Equalise.

In midweek Cesc Fabregas was back to his impish best against Olympiakos, he had found his range of passes and now it appears that he was only warming up for Blackburn Rovers.

Arsenal conceded an early goal due to inexperience from the goalkeeper. Mannone shouldn’t have been beaten from that position but he will learn from that and you saw a similar situation later on during the game that he came and claimed with no fuss.

The equalising goal was wonderful. Vermaelen striding forward to join the Arsenal attack got knocked onto the floor but quickly jumped to his feet, received a pass from Cesc, shifted passed a defender and unleashed a powerful strike past Robinson into the corner of the net.

If he is not bending the ball into the top corner he is smashing it from 25 yards out. Have we ever had a more cultured center half? I cannot think of one. His left foot isn’t just great for tackling and blocking. He can pass short, long and cleverly as well as score goals.

Blackburn scored a lucky deflected second off the boot of William Gallas but we did not cover ourselves sufficiently when Blackburn counter attacked us on that occasion.

Cesc found Van Persie with a wonderful slide pass and his finish was powerful and low. Since I have put a bet on Van Persie at 50-1 to finish top goal scorer he has scored in his last three matches. So as much as I love the goals being shared around, for selfish reasons I am hoping that Van Persie manages to score a few more than his team mates.

It is fantastic that the team can score six goals with not one player scoring more than one. In days gone past it used to be easier for the opposition to snuff out the Arsenal attack. Stop Bergkamp creating and man mark Henry. Wenger has now created a side that can all create chances as well as take them.

Cesc was at it again moments later when his pass found Arshavin who fired it past Robinson for 3-2. Incredibly the first time Arsenal managed to get into the lead. Arshavin made the dart from right to left and pointed to where he wanted the pass.

We have had a tough time dealing with negative teams who sit back and do not come out but so far this team look like they have found the answer. Cesc, Rosicky, Arshavin and Van Persie all rotating, thinking and instinctively finding new ways of opening up their opponents.

I seriously cannot logically envisage Arsenal not finishing the season as top scorers with so many players who know where the goal is.

The fourth Arsenal goal was my highlight of the day, the best player on the pitch getting what he deserved. Rosicky hooking a ball back towards Cesc who initially was looking to set Rosicky free down the left. The masterful Spaniard took the ball on his chest and hooked the ball into the top corner of the Blackburn net. A few days earlier the same foot rattled the crossbar.

His celebration left me feeling somewhat emotional I must say. Kissing his badge running towards the Arsenal supporters and pointing at them. How about that Barcelona. Cesc has Arsenal DNA running through his blood.

Abou Diaby had a good game although the scapegoating tag will remain firmly attached to his neck. Wenger has made a tactical switch, when Cesc and Diaby started previously it was Cesc that was a little more restricted with Diaby the player joining the attack, this time Diaby took over the Denilson role of link between Song and Cesc. He was involved in many of our attacks and played a major part in our dominance of the midfield. One fabulous move involving Cesc yet again resulted in a Diaby left foot shot narrowly creeping past the far post.

At 4-2 the game was sealed, Blackburn were never going to score two goals even if they did manage that our offensive play was just irresistible. Blackburn should have received a penalty when the score was 3-2. David Dunn who was Blackburn’s liveliest player darted inside the Arsenal penalty area side stepping Gallas and eventually tripped by Vermaelen. My first impression was that it was a penalty and the replay proved it.

After the game Sam Allardyce complained and moaned about the decision not being given. Personally I do not think that 6-3 would have made a difference to the outcome but I guess he is just upset that his tactics are no longer relevant when playing against this new Arsenal. The dinosaur that is the Blackburn coach just had no answers to the fantastic attacking display from Arsenal.

The time and the personnel change could have been guessed before the kick off. Theo Walcott replacing Tomas Rosicky with about twenty minutes to go. The first appearance of the season for the England international. I like many have been itching to see what changes the new system will have on Theo. He will benefit from the freedom of the attack, from the amount of times he can end up in central positions with his right to left runs.

It didn’t take the youngster long to get in on the act. Fabregas poking the ball out to the left to Arshavin who was on the charge, the Russian scurrying inside onto his right foot, probably looking for the angle to shoot but he soon saw and passed to Cesc outside the penalty area, Cesc being Cesc knew exactly where Walcott was standing his first time flick was perfect and Theo gratefully obliged with an expert side footed finish into the corner of Robinson’s net.

Cesc had done his work for the afternoon and was pulled off to even louder applause than Thierry Henry was given earlier in the day. Aaron Ramsey was given a chance to show that he is ready for the first team and I must say his cameo was wonderful, amazing for an 18 year old.

Ramsey took over where Cesc left off, always looking for the ball, making himself available time and time again for the pass and he used it very intelligently. I remember when he made his Arsenal debut in the pre season game at Barnet his desire to get on the ball and not hide really made me stand up and take notice.

Nowadays he is calmer with his decisions and keeps the ball simple when he needs to as opposed to attempting the Hollywood pass every time he is in possession. He found Walcott and Bendtner who replaced Arshavin with a couple of Cescish passes. It was his long pass that found the chest of Bendtner in the left channel; the big Dane cut inside and unleashed a powerful arrowed strike off the far post for Arsenal 6th and his first in the Premier League of 2009/2010.

When I think about the likes of Nasri, Denilson, Eduardo, Vela, Eboue, Wilshere, Gibbs and Djourou not taking part in the game it makes me extremely excited and proud to be an Arsenal supporter.

Another three points on the board, six different goal scorers and our captain Cesc Fabregas has shown where his loyalties lie once again.

Happy days.
