Burnley Thoughts and Predictions, Theo may well start

By the way that Wenger has talked up Theo, I would guess that he will start the game and I think the FA Cup is a good way to bring him back in

Saturday’s are just not quite Saturday’s without some good old fashioned Arsenal to keep you company. Not to fear, every cloud has a Gilberto lining. Sunday has now been made much more exciting with Burnley coming into town thinking they are the London giant killers, well it is time to send them packing and get back focused on the Championship.

These kind of games are very difficult to predict as we are looking at some chopping and changing of our senior players. Wenger has already given away that we will be resting Clichy and Kieron Gibbs will slot in at left back, Fabianski is cup keeper king. The rest of the team is not so easy to predict, especially with Theo Walcott and Eduardo returning back into the first team squad after injuries.

I will do this a bit different today, I shall put out the team that I would play instead of trying to second guess Arsene Wenger.

One of our fullbacks is being rested and I think our other first choicer should sit this one out also. Bacary Sagna has played many games this season and although he has been fantastic in defence his distribution has been letting him down lately and perhaps a rest is what he needs right now. Emmanuel Eboue provides a stronger attacking threat from right back but the question is, does Arsene trust Eboue in that position anymore. He ignored the option of playing him there in Sagna’s absence last season, but hey like I said, this is my team so *thumb on end of nose* nah-nah-ner-nah-nah!

By the way that Wenger has talked up Theo, I would guess that he will start the game and I think the FA Cup is a good way to bring him back in. He needs to start games to get his fitness up, I suppose there is less chance of him having a set back with his shoulder than it would, his leg, foot, ankle etc.

Denilson has covered probably more ground than anyone else in the Arsenal team so far this season (an educated guess) so it could be a good time to give him a breather, as he will have to be at it on Wednesday.

Even with the abundance of changes from the West Brom game, my team still looks pretty strong, with a very decent bench. It will be nice to see Eduardo get his chance from the bench. I think betting on him scoring the last goal of the game could be a decent shout.

Mean Lean’s Predicted Line Up

Mean Lean’s Match Prediction

Arsenal 2 (Arshavin, Bendtner) Burnley 0

As ever the first goal is very important, I am hoping that Bendtner’s early goal at West Brom is a sign of what is to come from the team. Arshavin has come very close since he has joined the club and I think he could get his name on the score sheet should he start the game. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a confident goal scoring Bendtner get back on the score sheet.
