Can rotation harm Arsenal?

I think Bendtner could well come into the side in place of one of the strikers. Only Wenger can really judge what shape his players are at present

Good morning Gooners,

Are you all ready for the Bolton game? I am not quite sure what to make of it to be honest. I no longer have that fear about Bolton since Sam Allardyce left the club, he has brought his own players and own style into the club so the so called curse they had over us no longer exists but the reason I am a tad concerned is because Wenger will no doubt take the chance to rotate the team around as they have played plenty of football in the last 3 weeks or so Newcastle, 2 weeks of Internationals, Dynamo Kiev and now Bolton would be difficult for any professional.

Why am I concerned? Well, I’ll tell you. The likes of Vela, Song, Bendtner, Djourou etc are good players and I have faith in their abilities but what I am unsure of is that they will be thrown into an important game with no momentum behind them. Players in general need games to get their sharpness. Compare Walcott at the start of the season to now and there is probably a 30% difference in quality.

Those fringe / squad players have not played much football and might look rusty. We more than probably most teams need a run behind us to produce our best form and the players who will stay in the team might look tired so that would be my concern.

If this match was the week after the Newcastle game with no interruptions then I would be very confident of a high scoring victory, I still think we will win because of the gulf in quality but I do not expect us to play very well.

So I suppose the question is, can rotation harm Arsenal? The players will have the chance to answer that at 5.30pm

Eboue should come into the team after yet another impressive performance against Kiev, albeit a cameo from the bench.

I think Bendtner could well come into the side in place of one of the strikers. Only Wenger can really judge what shape his players are at present so a predicted line up is quite tricky.

Mean Lean Prediction

Bolton 0 Arsenal 1 (Eboue)

Stop laughing, he has to score at some point so why not today, especially as he is slightly fresher than most of the others in the squad. As I said I expect a tight game where we have most of the possession but not really creating many chances. It could be a grinding performance from the players. I think Theo Walcott if he starts will be the key player.

Have a good day. Drop your view in the comments.

Until tomorrow.
