Cardiff in the cup, match thoughts and predictions

I have the feeling that Van Persie could be rested with Bendtner being brought in to hopefully continue his recent good form off the bench

Arsenal matches are a welcomed relief for me these days, every day has been mainly about transfer speculation. The Hull City match is fading into a distant memory, we all need a new 90 minutes to get our teeth into.

Without wanting to pull out my magic book of cliches, the FA Cup weekend has always been a special occasion. Maybe the priority is not as great these days with League and Champions League are more important but we cannot forget our fantastic FA Cup memories, this young team could do with a nice FA Cup in the cabinet to get them started.

So the boys take on Cardiff at Ninian Park and it could be a surreal experience for youngster Aaron Ramsey who made the switch to Arsenal from Cardiff during the summer months. Ramsey played alongside Diaby in central midfield in the last round and could be called upon to do the same.

I hear that Cardiff are in fine form at the moment and will be up for the game. We cannot afford to take them lightly, thats for sure.

With Everton at Goodison Park around the corner, Arsene will be looking at making a few changes and resting legs that need resting without making the team too weak.

I have the feeling that Van Persie could be rested with Bendtner being brought in to hopefully continue his recent good form off the bench.

Clichy is out through suspension so it will be a good chance for young Gibbs to gain some more first team experience.

My charger on my laptop has broken down so I do not have those funky looking player graphics, so it is back to old school today.

Mean Lean’s Predicted Line up

Fabianski
Sagna Djourou Toure Gibbs
Eboue Song Ramsey Diaby
Bendtner Adebayor

To be honest, I haven’t a clue what the team will be, that was a random guess because we do not know who is more in need of a rest. Denilson has played virtually every game from the beginning of pre season so you could assume that he could make way. Nasri and Van Persie are very important players in our creative players absence so missing them through injury could be fatal to our league campaign but at the same time we do not want to throw the FA Cup away like we did last season.

Mean Lean’s Match Predictions

It is a very difficult one to predict because a) I do not know how good Cardiff are against Premier opposition b) I do not know which Arsenal team could take to the field, so I shall throw in a guess more than a prediction.

A tight affair with Arsenal not quite as fluent as usual but having just enough to win the game in the second half.

Cardiff City 0 Arsenal 1 (Adebayor)

Until tomorrow.
