Good morning to you all, I am in a bad mood today and this time it is not because of Arsenal. Although I could always include it into my mood to make my mood even worse.
Watching Monday’s 'pre-season-type' league match between Newcastle and Arsenal, a match where it seems both teams were happy with playing for a point, showed one the lack of urgency in the squad at the moment.
Our season can go either way from here. 3 straight defeats is not good for any side in the Premiership let alone Arsenal. Next up is Newcastle United and to be honest anything other than a defeat will be a good result for us right now.
Watching the Merseysiders, do a demolition job on the Gunners on Saturday was pretty bad viewing from a Gooners’ perspective,
With our strongest available back four and a midfield only really missing Gilberto you would have expected a better team display than the one on Saturday.
As we approach another trophyless season, I do feel that season 2007/08 should bring some drastic changes along with it. Of course, my opinion would sound far fetched, but that is my opinion anyway. It is all good and well giving the kids time to mature but we should also see that we have some quality not only on the pitch but the bench as well, as most of our rivals have, nowadays.
I hate International week, mostly because it means there is not much Arsenal news to talk about.
Apologies for the absence in the last week or so. That's what moving house does to you I suppose. I was going to talk in detail about the Everton match but
Its not been a great time for us Gunners in recent weeks. Out of the FA Cup to an average Blackburn side, losing the Carling Cup final to Chelsea after outplaying them for long periods of the game but the killer blow was getting beaten by PSV in the champions league
If anyone needed convincing that Arsene Wenger was going in the right direction with his young project then this surely was the answer.
