Arsene Wenger is really going for it tonight. As is often the case in these big games the Arsenal manager has thrown a curve ball. Lukas Podolski has been given a chance to shine against his old side. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has replaced Mathieu Flamini in the middle of the pitch and Santi Cazorla will start from the right but with plenty of interchanging you would imagine. There is no room for Tomas Rosicky but the other Thomas, Vermaelen comes in to solve our left back problem. Ok, try and solve our left back problem.

As expected Arsene has made big changes to the Arsenal team this afternoon. Mesut Özil is not even on the bench which comes as little surprise. Tomas Rosicky will play the number ten position as he had done so well last season and Lukas Podolski is given a chance to use that hammer of a left foot from the erm left.

Ok, I didn't see that one coming that's for sure. Whether it is down to Giroud's off pitch issues or Sanogo's bright start against Liverpool, it still remains a controversial decision. One thing is for sure, the Bayern Munich players will not be expecting this one. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain keeps his place on the right after his super showing against Liverpool.

So Yaya Sanogo gets a chance to lead the line in place of Oliver Giroud. I mentioned in the preview about his alleged good form in training. Let us hope he can produce it on match day. Arsene has gone for more protection in front of his back four by partnering Flamini alongside Arteta rather than replacing him. The Ox will continue on the right, I thought we might see Serge Gnbary get a chance but it isn't to be

Santi Cazorla will more than likely resume his position coming in on the right of the Arsenal attack. Clearly Arsène has issue with the German's capability to track back and help out defensively. The good news Poldi fans is that we have a sledgehammer of a substitute up our sleeves should we require it. Hopefully not because if he doesn't come on then it means we are more than likely winning the game but it is nice to have the option there if need be potent striking weapon on the pitch. The last time he set foot on the Anfield turf he scored the opening goal of the game. I'd take a bit of that today I must say. Interested to see how he tracks back against the likes of Sterling. He will certainly need to if we are to keep Liverpool out.
