My Vision

Van der Vaart would have killed Wilshere but Jack will laugh last

Robin Van Persie has spoken about his talks with Wenger in trying to persuade our manager to fork out the necessary cash to bring the impressive attacking Dutch midfielder to the Emirates. His performances so far for our little neighbours have showed that he would have been able to make a name for himself at Arsenal but this only tells part of the story. Although Jack Wilshere may well be a naughty boy, he is 18 years of age and his only progressing because he has been given a chance

Jack crocked already, Impressive Denilson & Gibbs chance

Denilson has been in fine form and came off the bench to great effect on Sunday. What amazes me is the way he is performing without regular football. He doesn't appear to need a run of games before he produces on the pitch, he is coming in cold from the bench or starting games here and there and still looking very sharp. Jack's rise has been rather unfortunate for Denilson as it looks like he has really taken a step forward this season and if given a long run in the side he could really push on and become a key fixture in this side. At the same time, a player can Jack Wilshere cannot be held back. He is producing football at 18 that many world class players were not able to produce. He has been fantastic so far this season and has only tailed off a little in recent games.

The importance of Wolves, Cesc & Wilshere’s position

In his deeper position he gets plenty of the ball and his distribution is very good but I cannot help feel that watching Wilshere lay off a first time five yard pass back to Koscielny is a waste of his ability. Of course he will be pushed forward in the future and he is currently learning his trade but in certain games when our passing is not breaching the opposition enough (yes Newcastle match I am looking at you) I feel that Wilshere's drive forward from a more advanced position can help break down teams and open spaces that have been shut for long periods

Competition for places is hotting up & Arsenal are the norm which is great

It is fantastic to hear that both Robin Van Persie and Aaron Ramsey are almost ready for first team consideration, although the latter will be brought in at a slower pace for obvious reasons. Having said that, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Van Persie pick up a niggle before Ramsey regardless of how serious Ramsey's injury was. We have missed a world class striker and potentially a world class midfielder from our squad, you could almost forget how big those two are for us and they will make a difference to our squad when they come back into the team

Chamakh proves Gooner credentials & Arshavin fitness

I watched some clips and downloaded some Bordeaux games when we all knew that his next destination was going to be the Gunners and I must admit that I was unsure of exactly how he would fit into our team, I suppose I had hoped that Van Persie was going to continue from his world cup fitness and actually play more than a couple of games before he found his way back to the treatment table again
