The first half could have been different even with our lack of urgency to win the ball back. Giroud was presented with a great chance, on his stronger left side clean through in fact it was very similar to his chance against Coventry where he lifted the ball over the legs of the keeper, instead Giroud blasted wide. If you want to win tough games, you have to take those chances. For their second goal, it was Abou Diaby who dwelt on the ball for too long against Ramires who has been exceptional in pretty much every game he has played against us. I would go as far as to say that had we had Ramires then we would have won that game and that is not just down to the part he played in the goals. His work off the ball is what you want from every player in your side.

Central game changers at Arsenal have been targeted in the past so this is nothing new. Cesc Fabregas spent game after game trying to avoid that shadow that followed him around. Dennis Bergkamp was the same, always having to think a few steps ahead to find the space to get on the ball. Recently, even Mikel Arteta has had to deal with special attention as opposition teams knew that he was the player that started our attacks from deep. But Jack Wilshere has something that all of those players do not. Wilshere has

The two midfielder's ahead of the central defenders had changed from our current starting duo. Mikel Arteta out through injury and Jack Wilshere being deployed further forward allowed the returning Abou Diaby to be partnered with the tenacious high energy Francis Coquelin. It is only one game and it is very difficult to come to any definite conclusions but the balance of those two looked much better than previously. Coquelin's running, hassling, tackling and pressing was great it always has been. Abou Diaby provided power

You don't LOVE this club. You may respect it; you may like/love what it does for the bank account of your holding company, etc. But you don't love it, deep inside like most Gooners do. When the failures of a season or a loss to a rival or the lack of trophies keeps up awake at night or ruins a day or weekend. This is a major problem. When you only show up on certain matchdays and are silent and little involved the rest of the time, this makes us worry and rightfully so, about your true intentions and your true

Aaron Ramsey has been asked to do a job, perform certain tasks that Chamberlain, Gervinho and Arshavin cannot do. Asked to tuck inside and make us stronger centrally thus freeing up the wide player on the other side. It frustrates me when I read how the manager is asking Ramsey to play as a winger, he isn't. It hasn't come off very often but Ramsey's form has fluctuated. Aaron Ramsey's best game of the season came against Manchester City away from home this season. Possibly the best player on the pitch

Happenings at Arsenal this season has dealt a major blow on us fans. Its been a very tough couple of months which has been hard to comprehend. The season started with us being pretty confident about our chances, I for one felt we had a decent squad to really compete for top honours after losing RvP and Alex Song in the summer 'if' we made 1 more signing before deadline day, a DM/box to box midfielder to complement what we have in our ranks. Well, Wenger passed on that which I had no qualms with seeing that Diaby looked like he could do an RvP on us and stay fit all season, I was emphatically wrong. Diaby wobbled off injured against Chelsea in the 1st half and from that day we never looked like we could be that force we showed in earlier games most notably Man

Arsenal fans 100% content about this position. Wojciech Szczesny is far from perfect and is still only 22 years old which is still a baby for that position. But for me, he is the type of talent that you want learning on the job, learning from his mistakes and not having his path blocked. He is still a very good goalkeeper who has weaknesses in his game like his distribution which you expect to improve. I am more than happy with the cheeky, gobby Pole as our number one and I hope Arsene is also. The issue comes from those fighting for his place. Lukas Fabianski has actually ironed out many of his quite obvious flaws from his game and was very unlucky to suffer an injury during his last run in the team. The trouble is that going by his public comments last season he does not want to remain at the club as number two, he is should be playing games and needs games to improve. That cannot happen playing the odd cup match or waiting for a younger keeper to get injured. What is striking is that since his comments

Now to come to the second part of my article. I feel that our lack of a defensive minded midfielder can be addressed by making use of someone within our ranks. If you haven't guessed it already, I am talking about Thomas Vermaelen. He has everything you look for in a defensive midfielder: reasonably quick, physical strong, exceptional tackler, calm in possession and has a wide range of passing. His aggression and reckless style of play will actually suit this role, since he can bomb forward at will and have

Bourussia Dortmund, a club who have now taken German football by storm, went 12 years with nothing to provide (silverware) for their supporters. They spent time adopting a new approach, a radical, but admirable one at that. This sustainable approach is similar to that of Arsenal’s and from the brink of collapse, they returned to the pinnacle of the Bundesliga. Through all of this prolonged period of hardship and fruitlessness, their fans stood by the club, and now boast one of the most vocal and passionate fan-bases in world football. Visiting their stadium is a daunting challenge for any team from around Europe, as they have proven in the Champions League over the past couple of years. Their approach and their fan base has
