Where Do We Really Lack? Our Pressing Need

Stevan Jovetic who has constantly been linked with us is one player that I see would fit into our current crop, Skilful, eye for the final pass and also good movement in and around the area. The stumbling block is the huge price tag(€25m) on him. We don't do huge figures so we are likely gonna pass except Fiorentina would take a minimal fee being accompanied with Marouane Chamakh. Good business for both sides seeing that Fiorentina wants Chamakh and also

Revealed – the rival clubs which “local” and “foreign” Gooners hate most

The final point worth raising pertains to Chelsea and Man Utd. “Local” Gooners marginally dislike Chelsea more, perhaps due to the London rivalry. Yet “foreign” fans detest Man Utd more. Given that the game has gone global in the past 20 years since the advent of the Premier League and therefore become more accessible to countries around the world, those abroad have grown up in an era of Man Utd dominance. And not just on the pitch either. Success leads to gloating fans, and last week’s blog comments included many (especially from Asia) who stated that coming into contact with such gloryhunters had been a decisive factor in their dislike of the Mancunian reds.

Your Vision – Read between the lines

Put yourself in his shoes. I'm sure most of us want to be successful in whatever it is that we do, so why should RVP be slated for wanting the same? If you were RVP, when you looked back at your career, would you want to see yourself happy that you scraped through a CL spot or would you want to see yourself winning titles? This should be a chance for the fans to stand up to the board and the club's transfer policy. Over the years we have lost Henry, Flamini, Hleb, Toure, Adebayor, Fabregas, Nasri, and Clichy (don't really care about him). Henry moved on to win titles too! Why put on a pedestal? Wasn't he in the exact same

Your Vision – Transfer Frenzy

Arsenal fans have say on van Persie

Once you've thought about it, its a shrewd move. RVP is 29 next month meaning he's approaching the twilight of his career. Come 30, his body will start to be tested physically and we know how solid he is physically! Theres also the FFP consideration, even the likes of City dont want to pay over the odds blecause they are currently looking to stay in line with their laws hence it would be difficult to gain a large transfer fee of him anyway. Finally, with RVP, arsenal have a deadly front 5. Assuming Theo Walcott signs on (which i think he will, but thats another story), Giroud, Podolski, RVP & Gervinho (who is expected to have the second

RvP, This is my reaction to your leaving my club

Arsenal are a tad naive, I can imagine. We all thought he would sign, at some point in the last few weeks. Even the club thought so. But van Persie took all that trust away today with the way he treated us. I loved you, Robin. As @arseblog said in his blog: Emotional investment in footballers is a dangerous thing, you’re nearly always likely to end up disappointed and dismayed I am trying to get less attached to players but the way you played, captained and the nationality you carried made you an obvious candidate for being loved by me. How have you repaid all those Arsenal fans? By giving

Which rival clubs do “local” and “foreign” Gooners hate most?

To “foreign” fans, the game largely exists via the media. Livestreaming matches, interacting with fellow and rival fans on Twitter and Facebook, reading blogs and communities. The online aspect of fandom outweighs the physical aspect of it, simply because you don’t come across as many fellow football fans in reality as you do on the Web. So someone living abroad may be more susceptible to

Patrick Vieira Still A Legend To Some

This is where I strengthened my believe that Vieira is and should remain as a club legend. Over the last few seasons especially, I’m sure there has been at least a few games where you thought - “Where’s the desire lads?” or “They didn’t turn up today” or “They don’t look like they fancy it today”. Those are some of the accusations being thrown at the Arsenal teams for the last few seasons.

Why Patrick Vieira is an Arsenal legend no more

When Juventus were relegated thanks to Calciopoli, Vieira did what any good mercenary does. He left for their biggest rival, Inter. He joined a list of names such as Ibrahimovic and Cannavaro in leaving the Juventus ship, neither of whom is particularly known for their loyalty. Nedved, Buffon and Camoranesi, not exactly one-club players, stayed, and became immortal. Immortality was never quite what Vieira was aiming for. He could have been immortal at Arsenal had he stayed. He could have been immortal at Juve for being loyal. He didn’t do that.  When he played for Inter, he sounded out Wenger for a return, firstly as a player, and then as a coach. Wenger at that time didn’t have space for another coach and Vieira decided to play for Man City, and when he offered himself to Arsenal again

The Machinations of Failure

It got pretty bad. Vd Vaart at one point, having been told he would be a backup, a reserve player, this tournament, had his bags packed and was ready to leave the Dutch training camp at Hoenderloo. It took many hours of talking with management and fellow players (of a certain clique) before decided to stay. The next few days he spent time leaking info to the press about the issues within the squad, and voicing very loudly his concerns and why he felt he had to be in the squad.  A large majority of the staff and the squad felt him to be a pariah, a problem, yet by the end, he was captaining and starting. Absolutely insane. The same thing goes for Huntelaar. Huntelaar had a good
