Udinese deserved a goal for their second half display but we could have killed off the game in the dying moments. Gervinho's mazy run and through pass was excellently done but Walcott's side footed curler was too close to the keeper even if it was still a fantastic save. A Thierry Henry side footed placer would have found the inside side netting on the goal. I hope we do not rue that opportunity next
On this season’s evidence we need something along those lines more than ever. As has been pointed out, it’s fair to say, by nearly every Arsenal fan on this rocky, water-covered ball, our squad at the moment is clearly a) anorexic and b) riddled with injuries and this combination does not bode well for the immediate future. We’ve had parts one and two of our ‘MegaMonth’ (C) and unless something is sorted out soon I fear we won’t get to the end of it with smiley face emoticons still ‘lighting up’ our

Anyway, enough of the negativity and onto why we are good enough to win this game. European nights at the Emirates are usually very good with the players responding to the supporters. I think that explains why our home record in the Champions League is actually very good. Recent nights against Porto, Villarreal and of course Barcelona were all amazing. A stark contrast to some of the
A Cesc-less team may be doubt-inducing for some but it’s what we have to work with, and every important win chips away at that doubt like a tiny grinning woodpecker. So if you ever feel the doubt coming back just picture the woodpecker chipping away and picture the doubt as John Terry’s eyes and you’ll find yourself smiling and humming a fabulous little ditty in no time at
I’m certainly not saying that there is no basis for the chants and boos. Far from it. While I didn’t particularly enjoy the angry cacophony that day at the Emirates Cup, I understood and even defended the rationale behind them. They weren’t directed at our inability to win our “own” trophy. They were directed at the lack of evidence that we had improved, that we had not learnt from our previous

With all the focus on Cesc Fabregas over the past few days you’d be well within your rights to consider Arsenal a one man team - a one man team no longer in possession of that one particular man. A no man team, then Luckily for all of the Arsenal world, and unluckily for any of our potential opponents, we are not in fact a one man team. We are perhaps a team minus one man, but that’s about as far as

Gervinho's red card was the big talking point and many have differing views on it. Fans have said that he defended himself whilst others believe that he should be more professional. I fall into the latter camp. Joey Barton is Joey Barton, everyone knows what he is about. I defended Abou Diaby last season for reacting because it was a dangerous tackle and Diaby has massively suffered from career threatening tackles in the past but knowing what Barton is like, as soon as Gervinho's shirt was

At the start of the new season, however, I was right back in the pub screaming at the television. That was the moment that I knew this club would be with me my entire life. I love Arsenal. I did while Henry was here; I do still after Henry has gone. Players come and go but the fans remain. We

The team visit a ground that has left such a mental scar for many fans around the world and probably some of the players and given the negativity surrounding the club with unsettled players it could be one of the worst grounds to have to visit on an opening day. But that depends on which glasses you are peering through. A solid and convincing team display and victory could wipe the slate clean for the players to take part, a chance to unlock the shackles that are attached to certain players who will not

We still need a replacement for Cesc, I know no one in the squad or what Wenger is looking at outside of the squad can replace Cesc but still we need someone who can come in to soften the blow of the impending Cesc's departure. A player like Mata could do a fine job and whispers suggest he is one of the players Wenger is looking at along with Jadson. I don't know a awful lot about
