So onto the mighty Arsenal, I wonder what Arsene will do in terms of rotation. I wonder if he will rotate at all. I was looking out for clues at his press conference and I know that is somewhat foolhardy as the boss tends not to give much away at times but he spoke about looking at how players recover, keeping stability and looking at the next game. That doesn’t sound like a manager ready to make wholesale changes now does it? That said I wouldn’t be surprised to see Kieran Gibbs be given a chance after Nacho’s difficult afternoons work against the Swans, even if he wasn’t given much help from Iwobi ahead of him. Alexis looked absolutely shattered before being replaced but I just can’t see Arsene sitting him out until

We’ve all witnessed some wonderful football in recent weeks, from the victory at Hull City, the all changed line up at Nottingham Forest, the spanking of Chelsea and then the ripping apart of FC Basel, it has been some of the best football I’ve seen for a few years now I’d say but I wondered how this team would cope when our best football was harder to come by. It is pretty much impossible to play the way we have been playing through an entire season, especially in the physically demanding and competitive Premier League.

No Surprises with the starting line up. Apart from the returning Petr Cech, Arsene has gone with the same outfield players that has served him so well over the last few games. The only surprise is the absence of Lucas Perez on the Arsenal bench, his place has been filled with the Jeff.

After the Burnley game we have another round of international matches to digest, it’s even worse that it has come around when we are playing so well. Anyway I suspect we will see another unchanged line up for this reason, unless of course someone has a knock. There has been talk of Mesut Ozil possibly missing the game as he did not take part in training but that may well be a case of protecting our star asset, I don’t know. Even though we have the strongest squad we have had in a while, the idea of removing one of our parts frightens me a little. This 11 needs to be left to do it’s funky thing, no need to poke and move anything as performances have been improving game by game and I’d be up for seeing another improved performance this afternoon which might be pushing my luck but worth asking I reckon
Despite his poor form and his lack of playing time, there still seemed to be an acceptance that Walcott would be picked at national level. His finishing prowess, when given little time to think, has always been exceptional. His speed, with the exception of the port swilling, skittle flavoured vodka drinking Jamie Vardy was considered a precious commodity. Even his image rights seemed to be in line with England’s 3 Lions-respect the ref, kick-it out and Marks and Spencer’s school boy image. However, Theo spent the summer at home watching on as the England team suffered at the hands of the media and were plundered by the bearded Icelandic Vikings

Some of the football on show on Wednesday night was mouth watering, I cannot remember a half that provided such quality on the ball than the first 45 against Basel. Arsene has spoken about the players gaining confidence from every performance and you can see that pretty clearly. The Chelsea win has given this Arsenal team a spring in their step just as the Hull City display provided us with the platform to destroy the west Londoners, and before that the second half at PSG
