We may well be jumping the gun on the formation as we do not yet know who will be leaving the club and in turn who will be replacing those players. Replacements will not necessarily be like for like. The only time we can fully speculate will be during the pre season
If you was to ask me who I thought was the player of the season before I looked at the figures then I would have said our captain Cesc Fabregas who has contributed to most of our goals this season
The much criticised Manuel Almunia having the 45 minutes of his life was responsible for the teams going in at half time at 0-0. Arshavin only lasted 27 minutes, Cesc was clearly playing with an injury from the Birmingham City
The goals kept coming, Portsmouth hit for four and then Celtic hit for three in the return tie but not everything was perfect. Careless goals were being conceded. Individual mistakes at the back and goalkeeper were an all to familiar story.
Wenger was rarely able to start his best team this season. Be that as it may, you would hope that the players that come in can perform to the levels expected at Arsenal football club. Perhaps I'm putting to much pressure on these guys
One of the topics in yesterday's blog came up about Arsene's priority system for the four trophies. One guy in the audience suggested that we prioritise the FA Cup over the Champions League because it is easier to win
My thoughts went back to our game against Manchester United at the Emirates. 0-0 Arshavin in a similar position but went for goal when Cesc and Nasri were in good positions
Taking our chances will be so important in the early stages and with our front three likely to be Van Persie, Walcott and Arshavin I expect them to have the required quality to settle us down with an early goal
Wenger has achieved more than Redknapp has with one arm tied firmly behind his back. That arm is beginning to free a little and soon he will be able to use his second hand to chop Redknapp and co in the throat and then....
Supporting a club should not be about demands. Burnley fans who have paid for their season tickets before the season started would have hoped that they could survive in England's top tier, they couldn't have demanded survival.
