Manchester City (h) – Nasri And Company Battered 1-0 By Arsenal

Moments earlier Arsenal should have scored, Robin van Persie's header from a Laurent Koscielny near post glance on (I swear I've seen that routine in my younger years) was sailing into an unguarded net but Thomas Vermaelen tried to duck out of the way and the ball hit him and rebounded off the crossbar. Incredible bad luck, you won't see that happen again for many years. Changes are happening on the pitch. Our closing of the opposition has increased considerably in recent weeks. At Everton a few weeks ago we witnessed a huge

QPR (a) – Ramsey, Tactics, Tempo & Defeat

Thomas Vermaelen made errors that cost us the game in the end and when our offensive game is suffering then it can only lead to defeat. Vermaelen dived in at Adel Taarabt and the Moroccan skipped past him and curled past Szczesny for his first Premier League goal of the season. It is ok to dive in when you have Koscielny on the cover behind but when you are

Aston Villa (h) – Is it time for Song to step forward? / Walcott / Gervinho

I remember first paying attention to Alex Song's delivery when he chipped over a pass to Eduardo to score that back healed volley but it has become a little more than a holding player contributing a few assists for his team. It is almost becoming the strongest part of his game and I wonder if that side of his game should be utilised more than it already is. Currently the midfield rotates and they all take turns in supporting the attacking trio but given how we press further forward I wonder how Alex would fair spending more time in what is

Everton (a) – Ramsey, Song & More Late Match Thoughts

We started the game superbly and our speed of passing was a joy. Everton did not know how to handle us for the first 15 minutes. As is often the case we were wasteful with our finishing and really should have buried Everton before and after Vermaelen had headed in van Persie's corner.  It wasn't the first time that Everton were undone by that combination. It was during Thomas Vermaelen's league debut when van Persie curled in a free kick to the back post and Vermaelen leapt high and powered in his first Arsenal goal in our 6-1 victory.

AC Milan (h) – Pitches, Rosicky & Fans As The Impossible Was So Close

This time they faced the real Arsenal, the whirlwind that blew Tottenham out of the better half of North London. I would say though that AC Milan have a right to complain to the powers that be. They must have stepped onto that lush, green, slick pitch and gulped because the playing field had been levelled so to speak. It was now based on footballing ability and not

Liverpool (a) – Robin van Perfect Brace Snatches Three Juicy Points

We were finding it very difficult to create any chances as Liverpool were quicker and sharper to the ball and getting into their half in numbers was proving very difficult, especially in the center of the pitch. The man who scores when he likes found his way to goal after a wonderfully inch perfect cross from Bacary Sagna found the head of van Persie to glance in past Reina

Tottenham (h) – Arsenal Roast Spuds & Arsene May Have Found New Blueprint

Spurs being the best thing since sliced bread, the best Tottenham team since the Premier League began whilst screwing Arsenal up into a ball and throwing us in the bin and labelling us as the worst Arsenal team in history, yet here we are. Both teams having a weeks rest, both teams pretty close to full strength even if arguably our best creative talent is yet to kick a

Sunderland (a) – Disaster Week Continues For Arsenal

Laurent Koscielny has just improved further without kicking the ball. We looked less assured when balls were played over the top, we missed Koscielny's pace and his decisiveness at crucial moments. Johan Djourou was often hesitant on the ball which could be attributed to his lack of recent games but he often took one touch too many and it was his dwelling on the ball that caused him to bring down a

Sunderland (a) – O’Neill Is Arsene’s Pitch, Ramsey, Arshavin & Decisions

Previous to that Arsene Wenger brought on Thierry Henry for Oxlade-Chamberlain. Gooners are still wondering why it is Chamberlain that is being removed and not someone like Theo Walcott who was not at his best in the North East. It is nothing to do with footballing ability or indeed impact on the game like at Manchester United. Chamberlain is being protected, Arsene doesn't want him to play 90

Blackburn (h) – Alex Chamberlain, Two Arsene Players In One

Theo Walcott was in the groove yesterday at Arsenal and I think much of that was down to the way we played the game as well as some poor defending by the visitors. Quick early passes with a high tempo helps Theo, it helps keep our opponents on the back foot which Walcott's pace can exploit. When we face teams at the Emirates who sit back and have time to set themselves then Walcott often
